Not sure if you guys care or not, but if anyone remembers the program Limewire, a P2P file sharing website, well it just got semi-owned.

    http://bigpondnews.com/articles/Technol ... 61584.html

Apparently Limewire is going to try and turn itself into a legal file sharing program, like Itunes I am guessing. What are your thoughts about this? I used to use it yeaaars ago at school, we had our own little network within the school where we would share school files, music, videos etc. Anyways, I thought this may be of interest to some of you guys.

fortuanatly there are plenty of alternatives for bit torrents and p2p still. (thepiratebay.org for BT, soulseek for p2p... all you need really... but fuck the music industry, if downloading music killing it, then thank god, it's about time.)

Agreed. From what I have heard, piratebay is being watched atm, didn't they get shut down for a couple of weeks at one point? Then they moved their servers and got them up and running again. If it gets shut down for good, I will be sad =(

Getting torrents from Piratebay makes me feel badass, it has a ship and everything!

I support pirating software, I have no single genuine program on my computer, I even get gaming CDs for a dollar or two in shops over here. (Not original)

I really hate it when bastards attack file sharers, such as thepiratebay.org , mininova, and now limewire. Filesharing can actually help a singer gain notoriety and fame for some lost money, think of it as an advertisement.

    Sad.

What I hate most is that I wait for 6 days for the song to finally download, only to discover it was mislabelled (on purpose or not) and it SUCKS, or the sound quality is so shitty it's unlistenable. I've even had a song that decided to play BACKWARDS half-way through. That's when I gave up on P2P and went to torrents :p

Piratebay has been banned in Sweden, they went to The Netherlands, they got arrested, payed a fine, started again,
got a somewhat like €30.000 a day fine, up to about €200.000, they were shutdown a few weeks ago...
...and they're back on. The Piratebay will never shut down!!!!! :ecouteurs:

They say the music industry is suffering badly because people download illegal music,
so please keep on downloading! :ecouteurs:
I only buy CDs from small local bands (Like punkband Kezus Krijst).
