its not just the military though, its everywhere. on buses, building, cars, benches, its even sent to you in the mail. "for a limited time offer only!!!"

this is just the tactic of "go to work, pay your bills, and consume" "stay off the streets, its dangerous"

your local news on your television is the number one leader in propaganda. note how they always start with "who died today" or your own city/town's story thats in their opinion, "the big one"

read a book, and use your imagination. dont live your life by ads

Well all the propaganda in Ca. these days is geared against Mexicans...It's become really hip and 'In' to hate Mexicans because we are the cause of all evil in the world. Anytime anything happens there are thousands of people online blaming Mexicans even though of course 2/3 of the time it doesn't have anything to do with any of us. So don't forget kids, if you want your friends to like you, hate a Mexican today!

I once said to one of those army nuts "You're aware that there isn't a single war in history that hasn't lead to even more war, hatred and social distress right? Not one" - Damn that pisses them off. The best part was, he was high ranked of some sort. And he couldn't mention one that didn't give more violence.
I don't need their shit, i don't have masculinity issues.

That's doublespeak and it surprises me that you would enforce it, because it's thinly veiled hatespeech and the bottom line is weather you call me a motherfuckin Latino, or an illegal, or a wetback, or a beaner, or a spic what you really mean is Mexican. Why beat around the bush?

    Like punkmar notes:
What constitutes an 'illegal alien'? Someone from Mexico! What constitutes a 'terrorist'? An Arab!
Propaganda against 'illegal aliens' is little more than racial profiling and discrimination.

Generalizing and stereotypes??? WTF? Typical response from an Orange County Law Enforcement Anglo...I would think someone with a Jewish heritage would empathize with persecution of an entire race of people but apparently that only counts if your Jewish? You got some balls buddy......

what the fuck you? What have i said to make you call me a "law enforcement anglo?" What have i even said about enforcing anything remotely about anything to do with the border? What did i even say that was so offensive you resort to name calling? For saying that the illeagel immigration propaganda is not just about mexicans but all illeagel citizens?
for pointing out that calling all illeagels mexican is incorrect?

America is going through (or never stopped going through) a big Xenophobic state. ffs I am not against them coming here or anything, I support them milking this fucked system, but i have worked with people from south america and central america that would be mad if you called them mexicans. Not to mention the Asian and Middle Eastern immigrints that face the same anti immigration BS that mexicans do. Maybe you are seeing something I don;t, but all the election commericals seem to be anti immigration period, and not specificly mexican, and I am sorry but people come through the mexican border of all races to get to this so called land of oppurtuiny. So instead of acting childish, calling me names, and insulting me for where I live and was brought up (which is beyond my control BTW) why don't you find out the source before jumping to conclusions? you seem to be eager to be confrontational with me, and I'm not your enemy. In fact On most issues im on the same side as you, but you attitude makes me want to not hear anything you have to say.

Comparing the holocaust to immigration is demeaning and insulting to jewish people.

seriously, if i am missing something tell me without insults and name calling, but i really dont see what you are so bent about.

Really there are other illegals besides Mexicans? I didn't even know that....c'mon Anxiety of course I know that and I also speak to these people regularly, as a matter of fact I live amongst them. Who said anything about the holocaust? I said it surprises me that someone of Jewish heritage such as yourself would choose to gloss over the xenophobia that is most definitely mostly directed at my people and not seem to understand the severity of it. And I also told you in the past that my younger brother and sister are both of Jewish descent. Lets definitely not compare tragedies in terms of numbers but in terms of relevance to current circumstances in our immediate surroundings. It's really fucking bad and it's only going to get worse. I apologize for what I said but your comments came off as crass and calloused and somewhat in line with things you have posted in the past. It's almost as if you're saying "I think you people complain too much". Much of my attitude is informed by what the Jewish people have been through as I have explained to you before my fortune to have counted not one but three Holocaust survivors as mentors and friends, so yes I am militant and upfront and will always be so when I see the bullshit that some portions of the white population put my people and the others through.

Maybe you should ask the family who were recently murdered by prominent Minutemen in Arizona why I'm so bent...........

ok i am sorry for offending you, that was definatly not my intention, i just feel bad for all the illeagel immigrints who get picked on, and I know not one group is better or worse then any other, but sometimes it seems people like to imply that tehre are differences for whatever reason.... I am sickened by all the anti immigration hoopla, as that is what this country was founded on in the first place, yet almost every group to have a mass exodus here has been singled out and picked on at one time or other (the irish and italians come to mind as earlier examples) and it sucks for the mexicans and latin americans that they are currently being scapegoated for so many other problems they are not involved with.

you may not be familiar with irony, oh well.

It is fucking obvious that not all 'illegal' immigrants into the US are Mexican, I in no way stated that. What is was highlighting in my comments was that mainstream discourse on immigration, or dealing with the 'problem' of 'illegal aliens', implies these 'illegals' have a shared race, Nationality or other Other-ness (for the lack of a better term). It is no doubt worth noting that where I live (Australia) the fear of the 'invading illegal Asian immigrants' runs rife regardless of the fact that the vast majority of illegal immigration to Australia is backpacking twenty-something poms who decide England is a bit shit and over-stay their visa. Regardless, the media runs daily stories on 'new boat people found off the coast' (if they keep coming at this rate they'll fill up the MCG in 30 years!!! Oh noes!!) somewhere and the 'problems' these Sri Lankans & Afghanis have in 'adapting to our ['better and moar civilised'] different culture. What I am getting at is that debates on immigration are fundamentally racialist, within this context I found yr comment:
to be a bit daft. Hence my rather polemic response.

Finally, on my opinions on the function of this discourse- through de-contextualising, sterotyping and deliberately distorting the complex reality of peoples' different socio-economic circumstances and opinions, the State acts to not only bolster it's position as social 'protector' due to fostering a xenophobic fear of the Other; but also abuses language to the point where 'Muslim' and 'terrorist' can be used nearly interchangeably.

I really hate to see how immigrants are being treated in the USA...

The Netherlands have a reputation of complete tolerance. it isn't true for a long time anymore,
xenofobia was all around in the '90s... but things weren't too bad at all until Geert Wilders started his own political party.
Nationalism is on the rise, muslims are being discriminated...

it sure is a sick world...

It's really nothing new. There were the same things happening in the 1800's with the influx of immigrates then as well. Humans tend to resist change by their nature. You no longer see the same anti-Irish or German sentiments that were common during that time. I have a feeling that it will take some time but we will get there. I hope.

It's exactly the same in Denmark. We used to be tolerant, now, people hide our flag when in other countries. Statements such as "All muslim men rape their daughters", "Islam is the cancer of modern society" and such have become everyday speech amongst politicians. They say this stuff in the newspapers and on TV.

I think it's all over Europe now. All this intolerance.
