Anyone play any RPG's, the old school PnP table top variety? I play D&D, All Flesh Must Be Eaten (zombie survival), and ShadowRun. Shadowrun has this cool cyber punk feel to it. Deals with fighting MegaCorps and big brother.

This has nothing to do with video games. PnP use dice and imagination and not a tv or monitor. Totally low tech. There is not a thread about this.

Have played World of Darkness and D&D 3.5, but that's about it actually... :(
Been wanting to try more RPG's and have loads on my comp, BUT there's no one around here that actually roleplays the old-fashioned way anymore :(
Or well there are a few, but I keep running into trouble when making appointments with the dudes >.< (would be a new D&D party)

i didn't realise it was different from the other thread. next time just send a PM to a mod and ask for the thread to be opened instead of starting another one..

Yeah, as I said in my thread which got closed I'm playing D&D 2nd edition with a few mates at the moment. Always wanted to play PnP but only recently found other people who were keen so this is my first game.

If you are going to play D&D I recommend 3.5. The rules are much easier to understand compared to 2nd. It's great for beginners.

We started off playing 3.5 but there was some drama between people in the group so the guy who had the books for it pulled out (think it was his girlfriend being petty but I don't really know the details). So we only have access to the 2nd edition books at the moment, otherwise we'd be playing 3.5 for sure.

You can find the core books on ebay for pretty cheap now that 4th edition is out. I personally can't stand 4th. All you really need is the players handbook. Everything else is easy enough to run off of a computer.

True. Maybe I'll bring it up, we've already got through a couple of quests though and I wouldn't be too keen to have to start over (I would still like to play the 3.5 character I created at some point though).

Ugh, I hate how they changed the alignment system in the 4th one. Took away all the cool ones :ecouteurs:

I don't like WOW either the pen/paper version or the computer version. I have played MERP (Middle Earth). I'm currently running an orc bataliion of 100 orcs in 40K together with a small squad of space marines (30). Difficult to find people to play with atm.

I played table top RPGs for the first time about 3 years ago, and have never had the chance to play again. My bandmate loves playing them, so I'll probably be playing them more often after he moves back up.
