    I wish i could be a vegan.
I really hate the whole industrializing meat thing.
But even if a large group stops eating meat and
dairy products, that doesnt make them stop.
As long as they're getting money from someone
    they're happy campers.

I really like the idea of vegetarianism, and as much as I really dislike the whole capitalism-profitmaking-meatindustry, which does nothing else than polluting our world even more,I think that eventually I would limit myself, and for what cause?
Yeah, I could do it, for idealogical reasons ( I have considered this being very well possible for me), but unless alot of people could do it together, I don't think it could have a giant influence on the whole meatindustry.

I agree that one person alone doesn't have much impact on the meat industry but for everyone that stops eating meat, the more we are and the bigger impact we have together. The argument that you alone won't accomplish a revolution doesn't make you give up, does it? Every little effort to change the world is worth something i think.

Woohoo! :D That's great! If we don't do those little things, we can't expect the big ones to ever come about.

Yea, we can't destroy capitalism in one day, we have to break it down piece by piece :D

This is my plan too bro. I've stopped having meat at lunch now and once I leave home and am doing all my own cooking I'll try and go fully vegetarian. Meh, I can't change the world but I can try and make sure I do more to help than to harm it.

Why start when you leave home? (sorry if its lack of support). Sometimes your choices can rub off on others and inspire them to make a positive change (

It would make things alot more difficult for my mother.
If I were to become a veggie, she would have to cook a serperate meal for me and I don't want her to do even more work than she already does, so that's why I' ll just wait untill I can support myself and cook my own meals.

hey guys, i just bought "Another Dinner Is Possible". I'm planning try the vegan diet starting 2012, the documentary Forks Over Knives gave me the inspiration haha. Currently I am an omnivore. Would anyone like share some advice I might not get from the book? Any others readings I should look into? How was your experience making the change and how do you like it? Notice any physical or mental changes because of the diet?

Another Dinner is Possible is a really good book, there is lots of guidance regarding health and diet.

You just need to keep an eye on yourself and make sure you balance your nutrients right. If you like cooking and can be arsed, it should be a piece of piss. One-pot meals are always good because they're simple and you can chuck in a shitload of veg and pulses to guarantee a balanced diet of the right vitamins and minerals. Also, be sure to get milks and other things that are fortified with B12, the otherwise elusive vitamin of the vegan diet.

Good luck autohuman. After a little time passes and you start learning all the tricks of the trade, it gets way easy.
One pot meals. yes! I love one pot meals, especially for the everyday, nothing fancy hum drum.
Have you ever heard about postpunkkitchen forum?

Becoming vegan doesn't really work as a get thin quick gimmick. There are plenty of fat vegans in the world
If you need more weight as a vegan, load up on your carbs, as you are eating your veggies of coarse.

Also, add flax seed to your meals. Grind them up first, using a coffee/spice grinder or your moms Molcajete (Mortar and Pestle) then add them to your meal. Best mixed in: Spagetti sauce, bbq, gaucalmole, shake, vegan ice cream, oatmeal, rice, beans, corn. Don't cook them, grind and add them in right before you eat. They are extremely high in Omega 3 and high in calories (for those who would like to gains)
They get a little too slimy for my liking in plain cereal and milk or soup.

I think all these scares about being vegan are bullshit. I just cook what's available really, don't think about it that much, or what I feel like eating.

Getting on for ten years and I not dead yet.

This is total nonsense. How can someone on an anarcho-punk forum not understand basic capitalism. The thing you most likely stand against if you're here.

    Removing demand, reduces production.

Non-human-animals have just as much intrinsic value as any human-animal. Making a distinction for the sake of ethical or moral contrast, in this case human-animals vs non-human-animals, i.e. anthropocentrism or speciesism, is just as absurd as racism, sexism, or homophobia. And any person who holds a stance of spiciest superiority should be treated with the same disgust and distane as any person who holds an opinion based the three arbitrary distinctions mentioned earlier.

The capitalist will sell you the rope to hang them with.
    Let's tie the noose.
