Interesting website, thanks for the link Rude-Boy. It would possibly help when I get back to the states, for it can be of TOTALLY NO use over here, but it is still worth informing yourself and others.

To Ungovernable: Yeah, it probably would be of no use if they actually do find anything on you, but did you actually refuse to "consent" for any searches? Check this: http://flexyourrights.org/success_stories

Thing is if they break the rule and find nothing on you, then that would be great.

 

You could try appearing more ''professional'' such as trying to sound like you know what your are doing, use big words and stuff.

One thing to remember is that a majority of officers have a real ethics problem, they dont care what rules they break in order to "protect the citizenry" they think they are empowered to do anything and everything in order to further their agenda. By the way in most California Dept's 3 seperate formal citizen complaints against an officer will get him expelled!

 

Man am I glad I only encounter Dutch cops. Most of them don't pose too much of a problem and if treated with some respect might actually end up being relatively nice guys 0.o
Hell, there's no drinking here in public and at one point I was sitting in the grass somewhere with a mate, when a cop shows up. First he asks us if we're doing weed, to which I replied: why? Do you smell anything of the like?
Then when he was asking me if I was drinking, I answered: not yet.
In the end I had a pretty nice conversation with the guy and opened one of the half litre cans of beer while he was actually turning away, never got shit for it neither.
Seriously, cops around here seem like PEOPLE compared to the fuckwits you seem to have over there.

 

Yeah, you right. I dunno about across the pond, but cops I encountered in rest of Europe seem decent compared to bastards in UK.

My favorite encounter with the cops was on 6/6/06 when my friends and I were riding bikes around town at two in the morning. We're from Bloomington, IN, a college town that loses about 40,000 people of its 120,000 population in the summer. That means the cop to regular person ratio increases quite uncomfortably and they don't have shit to do other than harass kids.

Long story short, I ended up sitting in the middle of a semi-circle of six cop cars. One at a time, every cop on duty that night tried his hand at convincing/intimidating me into letting them search my bag because "they knew I had weed in it." Of course, I did have weed in my bag, but they didn't know that and I knew there was no way they could search me. So for half an hour, I listened to their threats while remaining completely impassive. Didn't say a word to 'em other than "am I being detained" and "I don't consent to a search."

Eventually they got bored and frustrated and went off to harass someone else. Before they left, they told me I was banned from university property for a year and would be arrested if I returned. I said, "okay, can I call the police station tomorrow morning and get a record of that?" The two officers in charge exchanged an uncomfortable glance and then one replied, "uhhhh...I don't think so." As obnoxious as it was to be put in that situation, it was nice to see them walking away holding their dicks like that.
