The moderators consulted each others and we chosen to add this part to the "who are we" text. Please read it carefully, and please respect this new point

In order to keep this forum interessing for everyone, starting from now. please avoid the endless debates about freedom of speech for those we are fighting against. We believe that this kind of speech have not its place on a radically anti-fascist forum publishing bands like Oi Polloi who fight in the opposite direction of this mentality of tolerance and passivity in front of hate speech.

The members who participate to this forum only for intellectual masturbation and ideologies confrontation should also read again the whole "Who are we" text, Anarcho-punk.net is supposed to be an organization tool for the peoples sharing the common points of unity, not a place to fight against each others and confront different ideologies without questionning them.

Please make an effort to center the debates on what unites us, not what divise us.

    I agree 100%

    But will the others listen,
listen not only to the "stop arguing like siblings"
but to the "Fascists don't deserve freedom of speech" idea as well

    Anarchy is not Democracy,
    Hatred is not freedom

Others won't change their minds and will keep thinking we have to give freedom of speech to the fascists, we can't change that as long as those peoples refuse to question themselves, and they proven that they won't do that.

But they must understand that there is a consensus about hate speech not being free speech and they have to respect that. Like the text says, we understand there is different point of views, but Anarcho-punk.net isn't sharing those point of views, so center on what unite us and not what divise us.

If those debates keep ruining the atmosphere of the forums, the moderators will take actions.

I'd also like to ad, that if arguments get out of hand, and the mods ask you to stop one, you can pick it right back up with the person in question via PM and go crazy, but I think a lot of the readers are getting sick of some of the 1 on 1 arguing going on here constantly. (i know i am)

Also name-calling has gotten out of hand, please knock it off, we will make every effort to do so also.

And some of you may have noticed that I have started dividing threads when they get off topic, I will continue to do so, but please start a new thread, or find an appropriate one that already exists if something goes off topic by more that a couple of posts.

And please if you are going to upload stuff like minor threat or english dogs, stick it in the OTHER section, not the ANARCHO-PUNK section.

    Thanks.

Actually arguments often lead to different perspectives on a certain issue and supply information about a cetain issue. For example, most of Jack's posts were arguments, yet I myself learned a bit.

Agreed, cursing at each other like drunken sailors is counter-productive.

Speaking of which, there are too many forum sections which tend to confuse me, for example if I want to ask if someone could identify a certain song, should it go in the Music section or the General Discussion? What I'm suggesting is that General Discussion should be merged with Off-Topic, General Debates should be merged with Anarchism Forum and whatever.

Arguing is ok, until they become redundant. for an example read any one NGNM85's arguments, they always seem to devolve into redundancy. That is what we want to avoid in the future, especially if it is someone arguing against our manifest or against general anarchistic principles.

I don't believe there is a music discussion forum, but one could easily be made if enough people want one. the music section is just for uploads, the request forum could be a good place to ask for song identification help.

I don't quite agree with the change, but I think that disagreeing with a rule in this community doesn't mean that I'm going to have a fit over it :p

    Agreed on all points, Anxiety.

I move for a vote as to whether or not to accept the addition to the "Points of Unity."

it's not an addition, we just made more clear what was already said. This text was already approved.

Anyway it is a major consensus in this forum AND in anarchist community to not tolerate free speech as hate speech.

Anyway you already said that all the decisions of this website are up to the moderators since this is a PRIVATE FORUM, the members have nothing to day. This is your own words so stop contradicting yourself

If it can be arbitrarily changed, especially deliberately to disenfranchise one member, I don't see why it can't be un-changed. If the other policies are up for debate, I don't see why this should be any different. I'm not the only one who thinks it's total bullshit.

the other who "think it's total bullshit" also think hate speech shouldnt be considered as free speech, so even if we put it up to vote the results will be the same.

And i repeat: nothing new in the text, it is just more clear and more explicit
