Depends on the bands really, or type of music. If there's ska in there you better believe I'm gonna be skanking. If it's a band I like, I'll go in the pit for maybe 2-3 songs, or until my fucked up lungs start giving out, probably crowd surf a bit, other then that I like to stand outside the pit and make sure kids not in the pit aren't getting thrashed around. I think that's my favorite thing to do because it's mellow along with some action like pushing people.

Not of age but I usually try to get drunk before the show, or I'll have friends that are of age buy me drinks. If I'm sober at a show that typically means I failed at getting drunk, because that is always a priority.

Ha, a person who totally knows how I feel about moshing. I'm average height and skinny as a rail, so I just love to go in and get tossed about for a bit, then chill for a while and then back in. :lmao:

I always try to go with what my idea of the perfect gig is:
Semi-"violent" pit - the kind where you go home with a few bruises and are a little sore for the next day or two
Pick people up when they fall over
If you get drunk, you get drunk - if you don't, you don't
Don't stage dive or anything unless it's a really large crowd, and people are already doing it and everyone else seems alright with it
If you know the band, especially if you're mates with them, join them on stage, or pull them into the crowd for a bit of a sing along

I always avoid circle-pits. Have only been in one in my life, and that was Anti-Flag at Soundwave this year was it was a bit ehhhh anyway
Keep an eye out for anyone in trouble, and HELP THEM!

I have a few mates (me included) who're always hitting the floor arse first at gigs. One of us always piss bolts to the others' side and hoists them up by the shoulders, sets 'em steady and lets them be. The other night, though, these douchebag skater/surfie/generally white and bored types kept on slamming one of my mates AFTER he'd fallen, as we tried to help him up. That, in my opinion is pretty fucked. Just felt like mentioning it, 'cause I have no problems slamming someone to the floor in the course of a normal mosh situation, (duh, it's what happens) but to slam a dude when he's down and CLEARLY needs help is just so out of line.

i just hate when people fall on the ground and they just sit there and look up with arms in the air liek some small kid waiting for peopel to pick you up. it pisses me off so much. im gunna do my best to pick you up as fast as i can. but do some your self. when i fall i shoot up mad fast i pretty much never need any one to help me up. prewtty mucht he longer you spend on the floor the worse it is. and the best chance of getting your self up with out causing madness of people falling on you is to get up before you even hit the ground. i unno if that makes sense but thats what i do...

i liek circle pits i liek run as fast as i can while kind of skipping i have enver gotten hurt? but i have seen people get pretty hurt

DO NOT STAGE DIVE ENLESS THERE ARE LOTS OF PEOPLE!!! exactly. i have seen people try and do a back flip of a stage. and there were not enough people and he smoked his head REALLLLY hear on the floor. i picked him up and carried him to the bar and he was bleeding on my and shit it was bad neews. he was half consious and talkign gibberish. i just dont stage dive. i have never liked it. except once i crowed surfed to the stage. then sang a bit into the mike then staged dived. they cought me surfed me to the pit then i jumped into the pit and went FUCKING INSANE! it was such a power surge it pumped me up fuckign hardcore. i think it was during the unseen

After having been a long time fan of The Living End (yes they were heaps of fun once and their guitarist is still a nice fella and not a wanker like many others) I remember going to see them play a gig...the moshpit was in the un-licensed section (no booze) because it was an all ages gig but the shitheads in the pit were all these emo/scene-kids. I don't mean Emo as in the old school 80s style hardcore kids I mean annoying scene kids who shop at Dangerfield (Aussie version of Hot-Topic).

I was told to remove any studded gear I was wearing because it was seen as a potential weapon...it was then that I suggested that I should remove my steel-toed boots for the same reason. We were told to remain in the licensed (expensive pissy beer ahoy) seating area. The gig was the worst I have ever seen.

Oh, and whenever I'm in a large group, we try to push the shitty, violent people out of the middle of the pit, in case they hurt someone. I hate those people who just go around, hitting people!
    YAY - MELBOURNE WOO! aha.
Soundwave was AMAZINGG! As if you didn't go, Probe!

I missed out on a Living End gig =(

I have been getting into their older stuff lately, totally underestimated them. I remember when they first released Prisoner of Society, this was before I got into punk, I was completely blown away and I was all WHAT IS THIS AWESOME MUSIC?!? Then I didn't hear their music for a while. Finally got their cd's and I have been blown away yet again. Shame the gig wasn't great for you =(

I swear I posted this already but nothing showed up..

On a note entirely unrelated to this thread. Crustyelmo, you have some of the most consistently hilarious signatures I've ever read. Congrats :D
