"Law is on trial. Anarchy is on trial. These men have been selected, picked out by the Grand Jury, and indicted because they were leaders. They are no more guilty than the thousands who follow them. Gentlemen of the jury; convict these men, make examples of them, hang them and you save our institutions, our society."

August Spies, Samuel Fielden, Albert Parsons, Adolph Fischer, George Engel, Michael Schwab, Louis Lingg and Oscar Neebe

Don't forget to fuck up some shit this May Day!

    Sorry about that Ungov...

I had a weird may day including going to a show with some different bands and some talking, after the actual demo where i myself formed the entire black block. Winded up in the kitchen not seeing a single band but discussing politics for hours with left partyists and green partyists, eating lots of almost free vegan food and then eventually helping clean up. When i then stepped on the bus home the driver was asking about my flag, big and black, and i told him a bit rather quickly and he thanked me for fighting for him.

Had a happy MayDay but I still want to machine-gun the arrogant university student members of the Socialist Alternative....fucking magazine pushing three word chanting Trotskyite pricks.

One of them sarcastically asked me if my black flag was a fascist one which I replied with the suggestion that maybe he has some revolutions to sabotage and workers and sailors to shoot. They can put their new leaders in place if they ever take charge but we will keep shooting and throwing bombs at their leaders.

I found it poignant watching people singing "Solidarity Forever" and "The Internationale" at the end of the day because there is fuck all unity and solidarity in Australia and the Trots are one of many reasons for this.

The Haymarket affair was the reason we have May Day. Haymarket was May 1st, 1886.

Really? I thought the Haymarket affair was a three day thing that ended on may 4th o_O and i thought that the protest may day commemorates was what caused the haymarket affair, either i need to brush up on history or im losing it.

Marched with a huge group of people (newspaper says 10,000) to Daley Plaza downtown (past the Haymarket memorial) to support workers' and immigrants' rights.
Riot pigs and pigs riding horses (hah) were in attendance. I left slightly early, but I heard there were some attacks on the rally by pigs later on.

Overall a pretty cool event, especially the black bloc marching band.

The marching band that played at the demo i was at looked like nazis in suits... Not cool at all. Stupid left party to hire them but they also served hot dogs and vegetarian saussaages made in israel after talking about the importance of solidarity with palestine so i shouldn't be surprised i guess.
