I really don't know where to start on this one other than the fact that LIMP WRIST ARE FUCKING AWESEOME and they need to come tour Australia again...

The only queer bands I've been aware of until now is Pansy Division and Black Fag quite like them, just checked out Limp Wrist and they're pretty awesome and I haven't found a hardcore band I've liked for a while.

Edit: Hunx + His Punx are awesome too.

Huggy Bear's album Taking the Rough with the Smooch is one of the best riot grrrl albums imo, the rest of their stuff doesn't live up to it but definately give that one a go. I'd also recommend Slant 6 who were a DC riot grrrl band.

I also recently discovered this queercore band from the 90s called Longstocking, they only released one album (plus a few singles, one split with Team Dresch) but it's fucking good, real catchy pop-punk type sound, reminds me a little bit of The Breeders as well.

Yes! Amazing! I love Queercore so much, listening to Limp Wrist is such a breath of fresh air. And I just adore the lyrics, as I listen to them, I just smile and laugh and nod, because they're just so TRUE.

I was talking to a friend the other day about hardcore and she told me about queercore. Ive been listening to limp wrist practically non stop since then its so good! I find a lot of hardcore and metalcore bands can be rather homophobic so its always nice to hear the exact opposite.

Recently I was watching a behind the scenes video of the band Stick to your Guns and was surprised at the amount of homophobic slurs they used. You would think a band whose lyrics were about unity would be a tad more excepting... shows how ingrained homophobia is in this society.

I saw Allison Wolfe play in her new band Party Line at LadyFest 2009 in Melbourne, Australia.

They played at the rock 'n' roll marathon at the Workers' Club (formerly the Rob Roy Hotel) then an all ages gig at Irene's Warehouse.

Went to both gigs and screamed my arse off in the front row singing along to my favourite Party Line track (Trophy Wifey) and we all rushed the stage to dance/pogo with em'.

I gave Allison my anarcho-feminist button and a patch with the name of my favourite live venue (The Tote) as a thank you prezzy...

ow... you guys so lucky because you have more band play queercore, and in here (indonesia) many people in the scene really homophobic and hate the queer issue, only a few people interested with it. i try to introduce and sing about queer in here, but no once care what i sing...
lucky you guys... some times i jealousy with you guys.... :(
