just becuz your of an alternative lifestyle doesn't mean our communities need to conform to the public tv influcenced paradigm...

I probably had a few in cidents of abuse by the fellow peers of the indoctination-institution.

but I loved my exploited and crass cassettes and gently assismilitated my environment to my tastes.
I had the idea that all people who where other than the ideal amerikkan had a good spirit to converse with and I had more grrl friends than guys, plus the queer population and tranny as well. The "sociopath" and partiers all had a scene as well and I decided to not be stuck...

I refused to be initiated in the "popular" initiation rites lead by the seniors of HS, yeah I got chosen but fuck those people they do nothing for our community and the tribe except if they get paid.

so, if you want to challenge that abuse get a community together and benefit the area you live in.
im sure there are many examples in our present time.

I did however get bullied by the testosterone fuckers, but later found out they had some experience with same sex activities... which is cool, but I did pull out a blade on a fucker and told him i will kill him...
never had another experience, and our group occupied a large area in the main crossroads of the school building, we had to stick together, so i guess i know how it goes. <3

Yeah I have had my fair share of bullying, mostly just older guys trying to show how strong they were in groups etc.

Just out of curiosity, what school did you go to? (I grew up in Melbourne =P)

Yeah, I had shit time at school. Kids just pick on anything that different, early social conditioning: conform else suffer the price, probably why teachers do fuck all about it. Yeah, you can fight back, but they just move on to someone else.

Hehe, I've had a lot of experience with bullying. As an enormous flaming homosexual that just doesn't quite know when to be quiet, I've got pretty good at fighting homophobes. I'm Jewish, so I get some racism that way, but a lot of my fighting has been because I simply cannot stand for racism. I always end up sticking up for people that are being bullied by racists or homophobes, that's how I end up in fights.

Then I've just got a big mouth, I don't censor myself. I think that if you're going to be around me and spew racist propaganda or whatever, I'm going to let you know as loud as possible how much I disagree with you. If you feel like you need to tell me your political views, be willing to let my tear them down.

Anyway, I used to get beat up a lot as a kid, but I got to be a pretty good fighter, and of course, it's always funny for someone to be beaten up by the gay Jewish kid. :lmao:

I went to school in a small redneck town in Kentucky. I was a shithead who thought I was punk as shit, and had anger management problems. People would repeatedly mess with me for being "weird" or something, a fight would ensue and I'd get suspended, but people would leave me alone for awhile. I eventually got into a scrap with a teacher which got me booted for good. I had to get a GED instead of a diploma, which has made some aspects of life more difficult than necessary. The moral... don't let highschool bullshit get to you. Just shrug it off, people are always going to be idiots. Get your work done, get the hell outta there, and do better things with your life.

I was the one who used to punch above my weight. Would get into fights with the older kids.

In primary school we used to hang out in year levels and there was only one class per year level so it was a small school. Most of the kids at school back then were emigres form the former Soviet Bloc and many of the Australian born kids there had grandparents from that part of the world so we all clustered nicely and most of us learned to speak Russian at some stage but we used to get into major brawls in the schoolyard...well the boys did. So I remember being held down on the ground once in grade 3 by another dude from the grade above me. Had his hands around my throat and I was choking, after he got off me I followed him down the path and in front of everybody I punched him in the mouth really hard and took one of his teeth.

Secondary school was a little different. Used to go sorting out the dickheads who picked on my brother in the years below but that was not often. I had enough shit with the guys in my year level. The occasional fight broke out in the yard but I can't say early high school was that bad. Once I got into the 8th grade and 9th grade I kinda had discovered Marx and all that and used to wear a lot of badges on my school jacket and used to cop a lot of shit for it. Had one fuckwit on my soccer team in year 10 pester me for an entire year before that calling me "commie" and all of that shit. I punched him out on the soccer field during training after having warned him three times that day. There were some guys as well from the year below me in my final year of high school who were a fuck of a lot taller than most of us and were just plain arseholes and I almost got my head kicked in on several occasions. Needless to say I ran into one of them in the street on a saturday night a few years after I finished school and I beat the shit out of him.

Apparently if you defend yourself in a fight and win you are called "psycho". Hahaha.

Ahh, I am on the other side of the city, right now I am in the Bayside area (Parkdale) but earlier on during my primary school years I was in Croydon Hills.

To contribute more to the topic. I have never actually been in a physical fight, I have been put into situations where physical violence was very likely but I could always outsmart them with words. I could always make them look stupid while defusing the situation. Alas, It isn't the same out of school, I find most fights that seem to happen occur while people are under the influence of alcohol and drugs, it is extremely hard to avoid fights using words when people are drunk or high, especially when they are with friends.

i've been bullied but it didn't really affect me. in elementary I grew up in a poor inner city area and was literally the only non black kid, and im just half white. as you probably guessed i got a lot of shit for that. but this is elementary and all it did was toughen me up, get me good at fighting, and learn to not be scared because like 90 percent of people are all talk and wont do anything. in 9th grade i moved to a suburb and bullying hasn't been a problem. people talk shit which they always will but you can either ignore it which is pretty easy or fight. in my school of 2500 there really are no "outcasts". the outcasts sit at lunch with the other outcasts. when it comes to cliques i'm probably like a lot of you, the pothead who could be an honor student but isn't motivated enough to care, and i'm fine with that. i have jock friends, nerd friends, prep friends, black friends, skater friends, etc and its all good. it might just be because i dont get bullied but i dont see it much and dont really think its a problem in my school at least.

the best solutions to getting bullied is to stand up to them, be willing to get into fights, even be willing to lose and get beaten up, and of course be willing to get suspended for fighting. Ignoring bullys doesn't work and they won't stop just because you make them think it doesn't get to you. I found nothing shuts a bully up better then a broken nose or a missing tooth.

Bullying happens because it is the bully's way of discriminating what is different due to their own fears. Bullying is really a symptom of extreme weakness rather than strength and so it is usually wrongly approached with reactive fear and anger rather than proactive compassion and understanding.

outside of a made for tv movie, i've never seen a bully gwho given some compassion realizes the errors in their way. Go ahead and try to be compassionate to a bully, i'm sure they'd be happy to use your talk time as an excuse to get some free cheap shots on you, or they may be too busy laughing at your feeble psychology.

no... that is so stupid it isn't even funny. and i speak from first hand experience. i mean because you said that you've obviously never experienced the consequences of fighting. i had that mentality for a while. "don't take shit from anybody, rawr im big yeah say shit pussy" but i wasn't so big when i got a 45 day suspension. thats not even bad. some of my friends who did that shit got court, juvy, etc. you have to be a kid whos in the process of learning the hard way or just hasn't been in trouble before. ignoring it sucks but you will be much better off if you just suck it up and deal with it. it really isn't that hard unless the kid is bullying you NON STOP and you see him everywhere.

I think being bullied was one of my many reasons for wearing boots at school.

way to take my words out of context. you have a right to defend yourself, and you have right to be respected by others. Pacifism is lame, and I never went around looking for a fight, but i wasn't scared to if there was no alternative. I got my ass kicked more then i kicked others asses, but usually by the end of the beating the bullys figured i wasn't worth their time because they'd rather pick on someone who takes it instead of actually makes them back it up.

i agree fuck pacifism. take the fights outside of the lunch room though. and if you wanna smash someones face in just make sure no ones gonna call the pigs. a better alternative then ignoring or fighting is saying "look fucker, lets say me and you both meet up in the middle of the woods tomorrow and settle this there where the cops cant save you." if you say that assertive enough they'll probavbly fuck off

Unless the bully is being violent there's no reason to respond physically. Common bullying is normally non-physical, and should be ignored. Starting fights in school is not a good choice, and I've learned that from personal experience.
