These are pictures of my Sociology and Economics exam that was prepared by a Right-Wing Christian Conservative teacher. The following exam ensued massive arguments between the teacher who was enraged at me and myself.

It's funny when Sociology and Economics are turned into factual and one-right-answer types of lessons. Sociology is divided into many opinions, ideas, and theories yet at my school we are taught that there's only facts, questions have only one correct answer, and that the government is perfect and always right.

Besides, what I wrote was true and (most of them) correct answers, just like in maths, there are multiple methods to answer a given problem, Sociology can be interpreted in many ways.

The 'correct' answers she expected where that the Medical institution is there to help the dying and weak, the Military institution is there to protect the people (Protect them from what? Another Army that is there to protect it's citizens.), The Media is new and only spreads the truth, the Political institution is there to help the people and keep order in the society and prevent any ''evil terrorists" from ruining the society, income is made by rightfully, lovingly, and fairly gaining money by selling products for a very low price even if it is seriously needed by consumers (now that was just plain wrong).

Page 1: Check the grade, and then skip this page.

Page 2: She asked me to describe 4 institutions of the current system, define Public and Social Wealth, and define Income. So I did

Page 3: Asked to define the Public and Private Sectors, and asked to list the Advantages and Disadvantages of the "Free-Market", also known as Capitalism, the most corrupt system formed by greedy bastards. So I did.

This goes to show how far indoctrination and brainwashing is going, they do not accept the truth, they prefer to live up to the "idealized American dream society" that everything is good and perfect.

The teacher told me to write what's in the book (which is issued by the Lebanese Government), nothing else, I replied by saying "No." She then got apparently pissed off and refused to allow me to attend her class, going to try to sort this out.

"Keep your opinion to yourself" haha :)

you did what you had to. I mean like you said today theres only one right answer to questions in school. You cant say your opinion or youll be punished. And whats worst is that you are telling the truth and she ( probblably, some dont) knows that! And she/he (whatever teacher) is forbiding your opinion and that is why todays kids ( including me ) are so stupid and controled by some "higher force". I think that you have shown yourself and you just keep telling the truth about todays world.
I didnt read the whole thing becouse I cant read something but I read the advantages and disadvantages part.
And I totally agree with the media, millitary and political instutution part!
Go on. Tell them how things really stand!
As for me I didnt do anything like this before becouse I hate talking to my parents( when I do shit at school they always call my parents and let them speak to me, more like yell at me) and they think Im in puberty. I hate when someone says "Oh, you are in puberty thats why you (e.g) dont bealive in god" I say fuck your god fuck your power. Im the slave and the master only of myselfe!

getting through school is more about telling teachers what they want to hear. your not going to change anyone's minds or opinions, so if graduating is that import to you, you have to play by their rules. However,m if you couldn't care less about school, I say spread your opinions and be a bastard to those poorly payed disciplinarians!

Had I cared about what the teachers think about, I would have not written what I believe in, so hell it is. Currently, I have two friends that have become Anarchists, which is pretty good.

The same teacher asks for my opinions on certain issues such as prostitution, abortion, drugs, and whatnot. I think she's starting to accept (but not necessarily believe in) what I'm telling her.

Schools are a pain in the ass.

Luna, young people have much to teach some older people, in fact most older people, you have to think that your teacher is probably a victim of backwards teaching herself and that having you as a student is actually a golden opportunity for her to learn a few things from you, so as difficult and annoying as it may seam try to reason with her and explain to her your Anarchist views. She might just spread your beliefs to others in the future.

    Lol@Keep your opinions to yourself.

If they get to express, and push their opinions on you, then why can't you express yours?
And like you said, there are many answers to these kinds of questions. It's not "Learn our opinions, and spit them back at us" class, it's sociology class. Teachers should be prepared for intelligent debates, and not only in class, but on assignments, when they're teaching a class like that.

I find most classes are like that though. Anything that isn't a very specific subject, like math. (And pretty much only math, most sciences have alternate theories, as well...)
If you don't tell them the exact words of the textbook, then you get 8/20.
If you don't write out their thoughts that they've told to you, then you get 8/20.
Because actually thinking about things when they're marking is too much of a pain in the ass to do, so if it's not uniform, it's not right.

I can't rant about it enough, how schools are just big sheep factories, pumping out cookie-cutter citizens who will be too brain-dead and compliant that they won't question when the government tries to opress and brainwash them in the same ways.
Not only in classes, it's not only about what you learn, it's about your behavior and beliefs, too.
If you decide you don't want to participate in an activity that is opressive, and even against the laws of their beloved little country, then you get mentally beaten in to shape, so they can wear you down in to that perfect cookie sutter citizen that they want. Because if anyone escapes their half-assed institutions with something resembling half a brain, then they've failed, haven't they?
CAN YOU TELL THAT I'M BITTER?

Goodness, I'm just glad I'm not there anymore.
Good on you for trying. I wish you the best in however much longer you have to spend in that horrible place. Don't let them keep you down.

Hah, that's funny that you were told to keep your opinions to yourself.

Schools a game. Might as well just do what you have to do to get by, and save your energy rather than arguing with close minded teachers. Don't think much good can come out of it.

School is a load of bullshit for that sort of thing. But if you get to university, then it will get better. There you are not only allowed but encouraged to express your opinion. I do it all the time and get away with it, even engaging in adult and civilised conversation with professors.
