I don't need to read about anarchism and quote some intellectual, I am an anarchist/anti-fa activist who puts his money where his mouth is. I probably am older than you and the reason I said "yes dad" is because you need to stop scolding people like your the Anarchy Police, it comes off as very Arrogant. Look ASA, I admire a lot of the things you write don't get me wrong, but telling us that fashion aint punk is like preaching to the choir, ....no shit? You keep saying stop buying, but do you make your own fabric for your clothes? I don't, I buy it. Do you make your own recordings of your favorite bands and tranfer them to vinyl? No? How bout your boots or shoes you make those too? So your saying you dont ever buy anything, you barter. Well at some point the shit got manufactured and sold to someone and even if your not buying directly, transfering goods is a form of capitalism....no shit? please lighten up

Am I the only one who is fed up with having to order everything? Does anyone know of any punk DIY shops in Denver/Aurora Colorado? But yes, I got a few of my patches and a shirt or two from AYP. They've treated me well in the past. :ecouteurs:

I guess here is my opinion on the whole buying thing. As much as I don't like it we currently live in a capitalist society (here in the USA anyway), and I hate it I truly do. But unless you live on a farm and grow everything you need, and make everything you need from the materials of the earth (more power to you if you do) it is really hard to never buy anything, and guess what even if you do that you are still paying taxes on your farm. Your other option is to dumpster everything, and the flaw with that is you are still benefiting from capitalism by taking the waste that is necessary for capitalism to work.

I wish I could say never buy anything.... but if you are to buy things try your best to buy from independent stores. If you like the shit Hot Topic sells, then look for places like Angry Young and Poor that sell better shit at better prices, and are ran by punks like you and me, and employ punks. I do believe in supporting local business, I don't even see anything wrong with opening a small business, and if there was something wrong with it then why are they radical book stores? Besides a bit funny talking pure anti-capitalism if you are on a computer, and on the internet.

So what is the answer? I believe do the best with what you have and your abilities, you can't be perfect so do your best. Not all of us can be squatters, not all of us can give up all of our worldly possessions, not all of us can travel all over going to protests, not all of us can liberate animals from testing labs, not all of us can do everything. But that's okay, we need to each do everything that we can with our own abilities, with our own lives. And most importantly we need to live as free as we can, within the means that we are comfortable with... and be careful not to become a slave to the strict "rules" of anarchism otherwise are you not still just a slave?

I've bought a lot of patches and shirts from AYP, never had a problem with them at all.
Where I live t-shirts are mostly 30-50 Dollars, if you even find any, so AYP is really cheap for my part.

I've bought patches, shirts, and even some music from AYP. They've generally been pretty decent, but it's a piss off when they don't have the stuff in stock and you're really looking forward to it. A couple times I found out that it was out of stock when my order came and the order sheet notified me that I didn't get my shit.

Oh, and I have ordered the No Future brand skinny jeans from there, and they have fit me just fine for about two years now in case anyone's wondering.

AY&P is a rip off... all overpriced products. I used to buy off there when I first started buying patches but the best way to do it is buy them off the band, or from their record label. Or maybe make it yourself? And if it's an older band not around anymore, find someone local who screenprints, they are everywhere. It's better to buy off some kid making it than online, and it's much cheaper...

I honestly thing crust punks the way to go, I mean sure they don't have everything, but they are definitely smaller than Angry young and poor as far as distros are concerned, and they don't sell the designer shit that hot topic does ex. trip pants and lip service bullshit.

    http://www.crustpunks.com/

studds are pretty cheap I get all mine from there

fuck crustpunks.com, i bought 5 tshirts, all of them came in wrong size, i e-mailed them 5 times without getting any answer... I had to write "fuck crustpunks.com don't buy from them" in huge red letters before i could get an answer by a human person, and they only said that i e-mailed the wrong address (bullshit, i emailed the official email on their website and i even used the official contact form). I never got a refund, i still have 5 t-shirts too big for me. I will never buy from them again, EVER.

Even with wal-mart you get better support. They only care about selling their stuff.

I have used them four times and encountered no such trouble, i have bought shirts, the transfers are pretty good( except my caustic christ shirt that is scraping away from only 3 moths) the pins also are very cheap, I hate them, and suggest against buying them. I use Crusties only because AYP sells lame ass poser Hot Topic brands, the whole site is kind of an insult to punk culture :ecouteurs:
