Melodic crust

I'd throw Tragedy, Ballast/Preying Hands, and From The Depths in there too.

 

can't believe no one has said this but - Martyrdöd(!) brutal, kind of noisy, but still has the melodic tpuch to it, a lot of the swedish anxiety-crust bands is more or less melodic, haha. Like acursed, martyrdöd, personkrets 3:1, not skitsystem though

Some of the members of the danish D-beat scumcrust band NUCLEAR DEATH TERROR used to play in a band called URO. They only realeased 2 records. The first one, called Revolutionsromantik, was straight up anarchopunk, much in vain of PARAGRAF 119, but their second record, REQUIM, was really dark and depressive, melodic crustpunk with cello and 3 vocals. I dont know if it is up for download here allready, but otherwise it it pretty easy to locate on the web.

 

BTW, is slench a contraction of sludge and stench?

I've become a fan of Melodic Crust (that i knew as Neo-Crust) recently and all of the bands that i knew from the sub sub genre are great ones. The mix of speed, agressivnes, density. and sadnes that these bands have is fucking awersome.

Martyrdod are amazing, one of my favorite bands. Perfect fusion of D-Beat "Kang" Crust and Black Metal.
