so i have an idea that when it becomes warmer i will hitch from denmark to germany and then to slovakia, hungary, romania, serbia, bulgaria, macedonia, albania, kosovo, montnegero, Bosnia, croatia and slovenia.

I dont have much of an idea on cities or towns.. villages to visit... few but the more options the better :)
and i have only a little kowledge on what is happening in these countires for anarchists.though i know there are some difficult places e.g sofia

But any advice on any anarchist events, places or just good places to go, couches available... also any advice on vegan food in these conutries..some places are easier than others. espeically local foods.. i already know about this pickled watermelon in romania...im pretty easy eating raw vegetables and fruits but any suggestions would be good.

Well, if you plan to visit serbia I can help you with that, to lesser extent with visiting croatia and bosnia. So if you have specific questions about visiting serbia tell me and I will answer...

    haha banana man... awesome cartoon

anything about serbia... i only know belagrade and nis.

is there any good nature? i hear hitching is good there?

And for kosovo, is it better to go there from albania or montenegro than from serbia?
For bosnia, im not sure of where to go there, i think i will be pretty sad when im there. i have only just starting reading about what happened there. But again i dont know any place to see,
mostar seems a little interesting, Bihać, Počitelj, Tešanj maybe they are interesting places...?

Well, as I live in Belgrade, I naturally know most about belgrade. Which is where I can help you with a sleeping place, also in some other towns, but that is not a guarantee... Have you been to Serbia before?
As far as nature goes, Serbia is not as populated as most European countries, so there are places that are relatively untouched. Djavolja Varos is being promoted as the place to visit in Serbia, but there are other places too.
Hitching, I'm not so sure. I know people that mostly travel that way, in some parts of Serbia this is relatively easy, but in some parts you could end up hitching for a long long time before somebody picks you up. And it's really hard to hitch in Montenegro.

If you plan to go to Kosovo I would suggest going there from Albania. It is possible to enter from Serbia but, it's not something I would recommend.

Bosnia is still divided in a lot of ways, but you should go there...

Never been to Serbia, or anywhere south of germany. good to know about hitching.

I understand there are so problems in kosovo and bosnia too. So i hope to pick up a travel mate somewhere, but if not ill just try harder to use useful words :)

I think it will be a good trip.. just waiting for the snow to melt :)

Well, if you ask me it's always much nicer to visit in the spring or summer than it is in winter... So that should be a plus for your plans... When you have a more defined idea of what you want to do send me a message...

banana man can explain to you how to hitchike from belgrade toward south serbia. there is place in belgrade called autokomanda, there you can catch bus toward Mladenovac and ticket is very cheap if you buy in the bus till "naplatna rampa (bubanj potok)", it is place where drivers stop and pay for using of highway. then you go out from bus at that place in bubanj potok, and you can hitchhike toward city called Nis. crowd of people hitchike there, even cops hitchhike, so you will have to wait your order or use any chance to ask drivers when they open window to take ticket. in belgrade they take ticket, in Nis they pay for using of highway. I think Nis is 250km from belgrade, but there are million cars and trucks. that's the best way, if you try to hitchike in Belgrade, you will see that people will not stop, they drive fast or they come in again in suburb of belgrade. so, you must go out from city and ask people at bubanj potok when they take tickets for highway. I don't know situation for foreigners, but I suppose young people speak english and they will take you.
I did the same when I hitchhuiked from zagreb to belgrade, out of zagreb there is place where people take tickets for highway and there you can ask, many people go in some croatian city but I had luck, I changed 4 drivers and came from zagreb to belgrade for 6 hours.

    awesome.

I guess i will start the first week of april.

I have no idea what i want to see, apart from castle things.. since there are none in australia and i dont think i have even seen an old castle or even ruins i am really thinking about looking for some in the balkans.

In serbia i think i want to go to Nis,Belgrade and novi sad.. I think there was something interesting near novi sad but i cant remember what it was.
I have NO IDEA where to go in craotia... split? i want to go to Dubrovnik because its old and all that but its tourist hell and I dont think i can handle that.
Thanks predic for the HH tip :)

Bosnia is great for hiking. I don't think there is much of Anarcho scene at the moment, few socialist groups but i wouldn't know any contacts. The best thing to do is to contact green vision great bunch and they do some great hiking tours around the country http://www.greenvisions.ba/gv/clanak.php?lang=2&kat=5.

If you are going to do hiking on your own make sure you are aware where are mine fields (heaps of them left since the war) I hope that helps
