what are your thoughts on holding grudges against people? Bands that used to be homophobes, people you don't like, what ever? when does it become too much to hold a grudge? When do people who call out others over petty bs start to look like bigger fools themselves then the ones they are talking shit on? Should we forgive or forget? or do we need to constantly remind other people that we do not like them or care about? Just wondering your thoughts on this subject.

I say it depends much on the situation.

A band that has realised the fault in being homophobes, right-wing extremist or anything like that i would support. It's great, and they deserve a chance then, hopefully to bring some positive messages. Ofcourse i depends how... This is if they directly speak out against their former statements.

People... Well, depends on your situation, their's etc. Is it a good friend that used something against you that he/she knew you couldn't handle, without the friend being in a hard situation... That would be hard for me to handle.

I have a strange feeling about the word "forgiveness" though, it makes me think of the christian ideal that you can only live trough other people's acknowledgement of your actions, but i would say, the day you can look the person in the eyes, have a good conversation, maybe even feel like old day - then why hold a grudge?
I personally have a hard time holding a grudge to anyone.

I hold grudges against people who have in my eyes 'betrayed' me.
But you'll have to go quite far to actually 'betray' me in the first place, so I guess I don't hold many grudges.
I do NOT forget, I only forgive.

It reminds me of the story of that ex-nazi from Evil Skins (notorious french nazi band who assaulted numerous peoples and murdered a few of them) who now became peaceful and religious........ very weird...... but better than being a nazi

    his story here:

    yes i dont hold grudges
i forgive but i dont forget
the only people i hold grudges are people that lead me on something false like the exploited claiming to hate Nazis when there Nazis them self
or if you betrayed me but even then i can forgive

Sry but I don't see why the exploited should be a nazi band? They have said differently and since I couldn't find any racism in their lyrics I have no reason to doubt it!

though of course some of their songs are... lets say problematic...
