Yes, yes punk is dead and we are all zombies... but reverse zombies because in stead of eating people's brains we are activating people's brains...

Or punk is dead, it is like the mythical Jesus Christ of music and culture, it dies and rises from the grave greater and stronger yet.

I think it is important for punk to go through cycles of life and death... it is like a phoenix, dies and rises again from it's own ashes. I mean think about it, bands like the Sex Pistols and their ilk killed punk and it was born again in bands like Crass... but then it died again and was reborn with new bands in the underground... and the cycle continues on, and that is why punk can never truly be mainstream, because it dies every time it becomes mainstream, only to be reborn again in the underground.

So as long as there are those of us who believe in it with all of our hearts, and as long as there is a fascist system that needs us to destroy it, punk will continue to be reborn every time it dies.

Punk rock is a phoenix and will always rise again from it's ashes.

As long as we're all still here, playing these records, just being the people we are... punk lives.

Well, punk can't die. If it could then classical music, oldies, country, and most electronic genres would 'die'.

One reason we could say that punk is being ruined is due to it becoming a merchandise and genre for most girls to act cool and boys to act tough, not a rebellion anymore than it is a fashion, a norm.

Punk is not being unique or an individual anymore, it's about what new album Green Day or some other shit has released or how many times Billie-Joe cries at a certain concert.

What happened to the days when punks used to wear garbage bags, torn pants, and randomly cut hair? The image gives more of a reaction than a few words.

people buy merchandise and try to exclude(i don't get it or accept it) when they shud include without watering down and making up rules as they go along but basically its alternative to 'muny makers' in my eyes as thats the cut and dry of it when it all gets boiled down, u can have sympathisers but to keep it real without being an asshole, just know wat ya about and don't be a snob, it shud b about ideas and cross referencing other 'cultures' without being stupid, dum funs diff, i mean punk didn't come outta punk, i tottaly agree luna

Sometimes i hope punk is dead - The bands preaching punk is dead is usually more punk that the ones preaching the opposite.

But no, there's still people believing in the strong expression that punk was.
Punk has definitely changed from the first wave though
