Pretty sure Fuck can work as a verb.

And just about every other part of speech.

Including punctuation Fuck you can probably even use it as a semicolon.

I love NOFX i try not to get too political with my music tastes i love alot of political bands and im not going to listen to some sexist lil wayne shit but i dont need a purist stick up my ass about musical tastes who said we all have to be anarchists? I wont vote because i refuse to accept there system and i think its pointless to vote when i have two choices that are basically the same but thats kind of irrelevant NOFX is awesome music to chill to and they do have some good lyrics and if it werent for bands like NOFX i never would have gotten into punk because you cant deny your first listen to bands like CRASS and Antisect are just fucking painful and if i was 12 years old and you told me that was punk i might still be listening to godsmack and blink 182

um soz this is 'anarcho-punk' and we do find anarchism to be important, sure politics shouldn't rule all decisions but when u choose to do someit in society like helping someone esle it is overtly 'political', 'by nature' as society and music doesn't just exist.

I deny that, I instantly loved crass, they were so out there musically and not like anything i had heard before, it was easy to get into. I still liked fat wreck chord bands afterwards, so it's not like u have to abandon what u like if you are into anarcho punk, but i think what happens is people hear bands like crass and like the relevance in the lyrics over the silliness of bands like nofx, but certainly there is room to like both for anyone.

I think NOFX Sucks. They are one of the worst punk bands. All they do is write songs about drinking. They also are Capitalists who tour on the warp tour; shows created to advertise shoes for the Van corporation. Fuck NOFX!

Can't stand them. Fat mike is always making stupid comments and then a week later making contradictory ones. That and he associates himself with that Corporate Sponsored Orgy, The Warped Tour. "I'll help humanity by making shitloads of money for the very people who are causing most of the problems" Go Figure.

I saw them couple of months ago.

They were terrible. Worse than some glam band.

Although I fucking love "Liberal Animation", I wish they would today make albums like that.

Nofx sucks, they sell punk first of all. They're mindless idiots and from what ive heard and read of their lyrics its all childish crap that isnt even "fun" or "funny". On top of all that, that stupid website that dick set up was absolutly retarded and now when you try and argue to someone about them they bring that website up claiming they are these great messangers of free speech when really it was just a marketing ploy and not only that, supports voting. Which is fucked, so fuck em all. :@

I don't know if I agree with this. Antisect I didn't adore at first, but I thought they were interesting. The first time I listened to Crass, though, it was like dropping a bomb; my mind was blown and I listened to almost nothing but Penis Envy for over a month. Then again, the first punk band I liked were Chumbawamba, so I did kind of get into punk-rock the back way, so to speak.

I had a friend introduce me to NOFX when I was like fourteen. I think at the time I thought they were fun and interesting and cool, but as I've grown I've realised they have nothing of particular value to say (and I don't just mean they're politically vapid, I mean that they don't say many interesting things) and no really interesting ways of saying it.

Has anybody noticed that most of their recent popular songs are just lists of things? Franco UnAmerican, for example, is a list of things leftists like; Two Jealous Agains is literally a list of records Fat Mike apparently owns; The Marxist Brothers is a list of more things leftists like, interspersed with unreasonable jabs at Marxists; Wolves in Wolves Clothing is a list of synonyms for "shitty humans"; Anarchy Camp is a list of activities at the eponymous fictitious camp; Mattersville is a list of members of punk bands that NoFX happen to know; etc.

Another interesting example is "We March To The Beat of Indifferent Drum", which is a passionate plea against apathy... which never makes it clear (or even implicit) exactly who it is addressing, or in what way they are [as the song seems to indicate] totally fucked.

My point is that they don't even know how to write a song that goes somewhere anymore; just a song that comes in, names a few things that are compatible with the band's public image, and then leaves; or one that says something mildly political, doesn't choose a side, boasts some slogans and then confuses itself into a fade-out.

At least when I used to listen to Anti-Flag, I would read up on the things their most political songs referred to. Their political songs actually mention political happenings by name and encourage kids to go look 'em up and get cranky. NoFX are all about image, not action. You can't listen to a NoFX song and go "that thing they mentioned is fucked, I wanna do something about it", because they never let on exactly what is fucked, or how to change it.

As far as their world view goes, you're fine as long as you're not right-wing, don't believe in God, hate hip-hop for no good reason, rag on emo bands, drink heavily, have STDs [they actually say this], and aren't so left-wing that you do silly things like engage in direct actions or go to totally bogus demonstrations.

Exactly! I did too. They're a fun, energetic listen that's challenging and exciting for any young person to hear for the first time, and don't need to be watered down at all. I dunno why anybody would think you had to work your way up to them. That's like people who use weak drinks to "work themselves up" to hard liquor.

If you don't like hard liquor, don't drink it. Getting used to something isn't the same as liking it.

If people have to get used to Crass to like them, maybe they shouldn't listen to them at all.

You can get used to being punched in the face if it happens every day. Doesn't mean you should keep asking people on the street to slug you.

As this started this renewal, I don't agree. Musically, I have never taken to NoFX and I took immediately to Anti-Sect. NoFX' music is mostly mediocre, their political attitude is to mediate and complement. As an aside, you're (lack of) punctuation sucks. Finally, no one says you have to be anarchist but then no one says you have to like the Fat Mike's radical-democrat-timid-leftie-show either. Fuck it, I'd rather listen to The Offspring - no delusions about their politics and they can write a riff...

Oh, my. Well, there's a nail in the coffin of the movement. I hope they don't encourage people to radically vote for change.
