I was into the goth/black metal scene before i got into punk,I listened to Rancid and whatnot in high school but didn't care much for any "serious punk lifestyle"when i was 15. Wasn't till i left and got into Norwegian black metal that i actually took anything seriously. Then i got tired of the scene police and found music equally as harsh but with a much more valid & Positive message. That being said i still like alot of black metal just dont care much for the scene.

well punks are recognized by clothes they wear but I dont thinks its the most important think in punk..I think those guys are destroying the idea of punk. well Im 14 almost 15 and I have mowhawk ok maybe it is a fashion to someone..but I disagree..i dress normal and i could shave myself if needed..I dont give a shit about clothes..but sure it looks cool. and I hate those guys ( or girls) who buy dr.martens just becouse its cool. here ( in Croatia ) they are very expensive ( dr.martens) and they are not what they used to be ( working class shoes ) and I hate when someone is listening to rock and is a capitalist ( or has no political opinions) and dresses like punk..geez..Im over 2 years in "punk". before it was just a fashion to me..today its a way of life.

O.K. you see all my clothes 30%-stolen(by me),40%-second hand 30%-DIY(by me of course).I hate when i see a "punk" in Dr.Air martens shoes because where i come from they re 800-1000KN(170-200$,or 80-90BP)and my monthly salary is 2000KN(about 370$)and fuck it but that is my fucking rent, food for 3weeks.About fashion i don t look too much punk but i would be dead for years if i worried about that.i try to keep it simple DIY and go,go,go rampage my friends.

I remember my mate telling me about some Skramz gig he went to see where the band were dressed in tracky-dacks (tracksuit/track pants), sneakers and sports tshirts, for those in the UK; they looked like Chavs. The scene kids were like...oh that's soooooo not punk/hardcore/whatever....

But the singer was saying to my mate that those clothes may cost a lot of money but they were actually stolen from the boutiques.

That and apparently they sound fuckin' awesome.

The american skin scene emerged from the hardcore scene witch had a lot of gang elements, that then followed into the american skinhead scene. - Stupid? Very.

Recently I've quite simply started to adopt a 'bum'-look, simple, torn jeans, small beard, spiked hair (not even an inch long), worn leather jacket (with a drainage cover attached just below my neck, don't ask), worn combat boots and shirts with holes in 'em ('cause I used to smoke tobacco crumbs a lot, due to lack of cash).
Well not quite adopted it actually, it adopted me, 'cause I don't feel like buying new clothes XD

I have a stupid question, and this looks like the place for it.

Is it possible to dye a jean jacket black? I've never been able to find a black one, and I got a blue one for my birthday.

i have heard of people painting one black?

i unno my cl;othes ussuly consist of just worn out torn jeans my green/blue plaid jacket that used to be my dads and is like 30 years old. and my vest which is pretty much my man purse since it has all kinds of pockets for my dope n what not. and my pair of red tred air boots i bought off some kid for 20$ lol his mom got them for him for 150..he wore them once maybe 2 times and never wore them after then sold them to me. now they are my everyday boots and i love em. i like to wear my vest..or my jacket not for attention but to not be like every one. in my brain its like i am not like you and im not going to look like you. dont get me wrong its not like i will never just walk around in a t shirt or anything but i unno i makes me feel a bit better about myself knowing im not one of those kids that have 200$ designer jackets and like retarted "pre ripped" jeans for 150$ my jeans ripped from working in them.. and falling off my skate board.. and i like the jingling of the belt on my leather jacket lol

i guess you are a bit older man. becouse when youre young you like to have attention..and you like when people see you and know what you are. I think fashion is pointless but Im fan on punk clothes . I think that people will recognize me easly and they will know to whom they are speaking to. and I like attention from cops and other "vip" :)D) becouse I want to show them there is someone against them and of course i like the adrenaline that I got when Im passing by a cop car and doing something stupid.

im sorry if youre not older :D

i could easily be labeled as a fashion punk with my mohawk doc martens and tiger of london trousers but i just like the stile and it's a very easy way to provoke people so those are like the main reasons i wear thet kind of stuff it's not that i dont know anything about the scene so... :beers: :guitar:
