i didn't know that datura was hells bells. But don't do that stuff, the only time I did it, I basically felt like I was in a really bad trip and I was ractically dead, but there was nothing I could do to change it, and I felt like a zombie, no more like a mummy.

I hear this a lot and at first I thought there was a lot to it, but I don't know anymore. People can very easily make their own alcohol, and they don't. People can very easily grow their own tobacco, and they don't. (I do admit though, alcohol and tobacco may be harder than marijuana) Hell, people can very easily grow a lot of vegetables depending on where they live, and the fact of the matter is, they don't (depending on the region, certain vegetables and herbs which they use probably everyday could be just as easy as growing marijuana). Convenience is a drug in and of itself. Most people don't cook for themselves, people don't make their own soda, create their own juice, work on their own vehicles even with simple repairs such as changing a battery. People are lazy, anything is taxable.

The amount of money that America spends on anti-drug campaigns and keeping prisons maintained for small-time offenders could EASILY be made up for by trying to tax marijuana. Sure, some people would grow their own, but a lot wouldn't. I am aware that the government does make some amount of money from tickets for marijuana possession, but the amount of money they drop into the prisons, the police, the parol officers, probation officers, training of drug dogs, etc outweighs it significantly. With the fact that it could in all probability be taxed and controlled to some extent (like lets say, distribution is still a crime without a license and tax, just like alcohol) they could save A LOT of money.

As far as cannabis being super easy to produce well, growing it outside is easy, but then you have to dry and cure it. If you want good bud, it takes a lot more than just sitting it outside and make sure it gets sun and water. I'm not saying it's hard, but people that aren't diy spirited probably just won't.

All of that aside. I've tried quite a few drugs in my day. I used to have a problem with certain pharmaceuticals and hallucinogens (speed, DXM, any OTC medicine that would provide a buzz, and anything else i could get my hands on.) I don't touch anything harder than alcohol now though. I smoke a little under a pack of cigarettes a day. I used to not drink, but now I do, quite regularly, maybe too frequently. I would also like to say that there a lot of sources for tobacco that is additive free (American Spirits are all additive free, and have an organic blend as well) that people should look into, if available (normally not) buy locally grown tobacco or grow your own! As for pot, I've never been big into it, I only smoke it if I've drank all my inhibitions away (it gives me panic attacks on most occasions, which is most uncomfortable when you're blazed.)

It could do. Too much K effectively shuts your brain off from the senses, but your brain is still active. So it tries to make some sort of sense of things by "filling in" the gaps. That's why people see objects that aren't there, or fall down stairs and only feel the pain when they came round.

My brain is awesome without the label anyway XD
No, seriously, I really DON'T care, my brain's been working more or less in well enough state to function for the last 23 years, so I see no need to medicate it based on an outsider's perspective of my usefulness to society or myself.

I m not straight edge i drink(rarley got drunk) and now and then smoke some pot.in my opinion hard drugs & drinking till you fucking die are just lame excuses for running from your problems.I like to face my problems sober and with clean mind.Once this "punk" said me you can t be punk if you don t drink or fuck your head with heroin.thats being punk all about.and if thats true then shit i would rather be a dead than punk!!!but i m still punk wiihout drinking my self to death or trying to fix myself with needle.

    Escapism is defeatism, period.
Why can't people see that some actually just do it to have a good time?

if they need that to have a good time, there is usually an underlying reason why.

Actually... I know a guy that simply ENJOYS the mind-altering effects of drugs and I have seen NO reason for him to do so for any other reason.
perona-non-grata knows this guy as well.

yeah there are exceptions, plus you said he enjoys them, doesn't NEED them to have a good time, there of course is a difference.
