    Hey,

I was wondering if there were any other veganarchists (vegan and anarchists) out there. If so, why are you vegan?

I made a group for us - http://veganarchist.ning.com/- feel free to join. :)

Haha. Some vegans can't eat seitan - they'll catch on fire or something. ;)

Oh well of course if your going to be anywhere near seitan you have to be listening to Norwegian black metal music at full blast. Everyone knows that q:

i began vegan because of the first papoose that traveled with me. one nite in a warehouse she was crying on and off most of the nite. kept freaking me cuz i kept thinking someone was entering each time she cried. then it finally hit me(like a ton of stupidity falling from my forehead=she is cold/can feel!
to this day the thought of animals CONSTANTLY suffering put me on the verge of tears/and to make others suffer. knowing that will not make the change i desire,i just drink. :'(

I think I first went from vegetarian to vegan for shits and giggles...
My friend, who had previously been vegan, told me that it just felt a lot better. So we both decided to go vegan.

I stay vegan, not only because it makes my body feel healthier, but because I don't believe humans are supposed to consume other animals' milk, or eggs. It doesn't make sense. We have our own milk that is tailored for human infants, and once we no longer require it, we switch to milk tailored for cow infants? We don't need the vitamins in animal milk, that why it's not made for US.
Not to mention it's one of the most corrupt and cruel industries in the world. And one of the most polluting.
And I fight against all of those things, so why would I buy in to an industry that causes them?

    That's all! <3

I'm only a vegetarian. I'd love to go to vegan but with my lack of money it's a hard thing to do. Being vegan is not cheap at all and especially when you are poor and traveling. But for the reason im a vegetarian is all because of how poorly animals are treated at these major chain food companies slaughter houses and farms. And the biggest reason i'd like to go vegan is these animals who give us our milk and eggs are treated just as bad as those who are killed for their meat. Being a vegetarian is good, but vegan is the way to go.

Why you think it not cheap? I don't spend much as vegan, in fact probably less than when I was vegetarian, cos there aint so much over-priced pre-made crap available.

Well maybe it's not expensive, but when you have no income at all it probubly is out of your price range. And as a vegetarian I don't buy premade meals anyways.

    Anarchist? Check.
    Vegan? Check.

When being vegetarian and finding out you're allergic to lactose, caseine, eggs, and also gluten, you kinda become vegan... At least from that it's a small step to being so.

It can be real cheap being vegan, i mostly buy dried beans that i boil myself, rice, and i make my own soymilk. Fruits and vegetables i buy the cheapest i can find, if i can find any that cheap^^ But dumpstring is easier if only being vegetarian, and so is travelling.

Pretty rural here so plenty cheap fresh fruit/veg except in winter. Can't get chickpeas though so I gonna try growing my own sometime.

I never tried soy milk? You need anything special or is it just sorta boil soy beans for few hours and strain it?
