Since I am sure others like me like to shop at thrift stores, garage sales, swap meets, craigslist, etc, I thought it would be fun to see what some of your best Punk findings have been. Old T-shirts, records, cds, whatever. Even non punk stuff that was valuable u paid little for.

To start off, a goodwill in huntington beach once had a ton of old punk records for $2.00 each, we're talking og press's of everything from DI's team goon to X's Los Angeles, stuff on Mystic Records, og Nazi Punks fuck off 7" with the arm band OG Sex Pistol and Clash LPs, ,I bought it up and traded what I didn't care about to a local vinyl shop, and made more then double what I spent. I only wish I could have been there sooner, who knows what I missed out on. (also funny when I got the counter the cashier asked if i had put some stuff on hold... I said yes, and there were even more great records. I left there pretty fast...:)

My local record store has produced some very good second hand stuff, as has the local Goodwill and Army/Navy surplus stores. As for records/cds, I've found so many used over the years, but one that sticks out is when me and two friends went to Cheapo, I was really depressed that day, my girlfriend had just dumped me the night before, so I thought some music would cheer me up, i found for a grand total of 10$ og cassettes of:

    Napalm Death: Scum (pink background)
    Napalm Death: Peel Sessions
Black Flag: The Process of Weeding Out
    Big Black: Racer X
    Agnostic Front: Live At CBGB's
    Subhumans: World's Apart
Anal Cunt: Everyone Should Be Killed
    DRI: Thrash Zone
    Slayer: Haunting The Chapel

    Serously, awesome day.

I have a lot of hipster friends so the second hand and vintage clothing stores in my town have become like a second home. However the only good find iv'e ever had was peewee herman record (which i believe is actually worth quite a ton of money but I haven't looked into it yet) and a shitload of pants that my little sister and i alter.

I found an USA made Fender Stratocaster at a Disabled Veterans Thrift Store, the tag said only $200, amazing! So I went outside and called my friend to come pick me up.. I walked back in the store took the guitar off the wall and proceeded to walk to the register all happy looking and shit like I was so glad to buy this thing, when I got to the register I smiled and kept on walking right out the door and into my friends waiting car. Now kids I dont recommend any of you try this at home as I am strictly a professional apropriator. The Strat turned out to be worth about $900 to $1100, but I could care less about that I still have it 7 years later and it's still making a lot of noise.

    Last week:
Black Overzeas and denim Dickies pants, traded them for a pack of tabacco. So 2 pairs of decent pants in reasonably good condition (the lower end is starting to unravel etc) for about 5 euros total.

An operation ivy tshirt and huggy bear cd at Savers. Merch for bands like that doesn't pop up in Australian op-shops very often, so lucky me :D

i found a skrewdriver shirt at salvation army yesterday. I'd like to think it either was donated because either the previous owner came to thier senses, or like me, it was bought for the sheer humor value (plus if i was to wear it, what would be funnier then a half jew in a nazi band shirt?) Nah I'll probably just sell it on ebay...

My girlfriend always turns up the best things when we go record shopping (i.e. original pressings of Nazi Punks Fuck Off and Nellie the Elephant on consecutive days)

I've found some things that for sheer historical value were pretty interesting like the god save the queen and frigging in the rigging original 7 inches. A bit of searching has turned up things like Never Mind The Ballots, Timebomb and Shhh! by Chumbawamba.

I once found an old copy of Mad Magazine from the 70s with a poster special that included their classic "for those who died in vein" heroin user poster, which I was amazed to find.

Aside from that I often find amazing/silly clothes, but there's too much of them to mention.

Goodwill in the AV never has anything good.

Found a pair of oxblood Docs for $15 at the Salvation Army in upstate NY once. They were a size 9 so I gave them to someone.
