Not at all, Marx is much more subtle than most people realize. It's just communists who act like he's some kind of preacher...

What are you reading or what books would you recommend?

I'm in the middle of reading Hardcore Zen: Punk Rock, Monster Movies, & the Truth about Reality and The Complex: How the Military Invades Our Everyday Lives .

I would recommend Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass and Ishmael. :)

What books are you reading or what books would you recommend?

Right now I'm reading Peter Hamilton's The Reality Dysfunction. Someone recommended him to me so I'm giving him a go, good so far.

In terms of my own recommendations, well, for those into fantasy Stephen Donaldson's Thomas Covenent series is bloody good. He's also written a sci-fi series which I will get around to reading sometime soon.

The book I've really enjoyed most recently is Barbara Kingsolver's The Lacuna. It's historical fiction set in the US and Mexico in the 1930s-50s.

Re-reading Living My Life Vol 1-2

Id definitely recommend Off The Map. Its one of the Crimethinc books. One of my favourites, really well written and cheap as hell!

Also No Logo and Rebel Life : Murder By The Rich.

May seem like an obvious recommendation but the amount of people i know who have not read Cather In The Rye is truly astounding.

Something completely different, but does anyone else read the National Geographic mags?
I would highly recommend them for the photo's alone and I'm not even into photography. The stories are good too and they don't seem to be too afraid to touch on social or environmental probs, however their main objective is and always will be to sell by giving info, to finance further studies.
Then again you get about 1 mag each month for about 25 bucks (in Euros anyway).

Uhh, right now reading a book that's a mashup of Spider Robinson and Robert Heinlein. Previous to this one a star wars book, and next up is a book on the rise and fall of socialism.

I would recommend "Please Kill Me: An Uncensored Oral History of Punk" by Legs McNeil and somebody else. Reading that book helped me really understand what punk was about, and it was only a matter of time until I discovered anarcho-punk and fell completely in love

I'd suggest Calvin & Hobbes - IMHO it's the most essential reading material ever committed to paper. Six-year-old anarchists with tiger best friends are a winning combo.
