I love the idea, and even have a song called "Breaking Cages and Burning Flags" that isn't already released on anything already that I think would work great. Let me know if you want any help with this project. Also since this is a free download site, I think it would be cool for the bands on the comp to be able to print off copies to sell it at gigs to help them on the road, and to promote the other bands on the comp (just an idea).

I'm in a band called Ring Of Truth... we are (when electric) a fast hardcore anarcho-punk band, and (when acoustic) an anarcho-folk-punk band. Almost all of our songs are about social and political issues that we feel strongly about. Mostly Ring Of Truth is just me (Timmy R.O.T.), but different people join at different times. We've been going strong since the fall of 2004. I would say that my biggest inspiration is Chumbawamba because of their variety.

I started the band after donating all of my time as a booker/promoter for a DIY venue, and still do a lot of booking and stuff so if any of you in bands come to Iowa or Minnesota let me know I can hook you up with some gigs.

We have some of our recordings up at http://www.myspace.com/rotringoftruth

Unfortunatly ungovernable wasn't to keen on the idea of us hosting this project here, as he felt it would interfere with the comp he is working on (even though the big difference is this was intended to be purely for fun, no need for professionalism, any idiot with a tape recorder and a way to copy it to wav, mp3 or whatever would be free to contribute...) Anyways, out of respect for him, i have put the idea on hold for the moment, but if enough people are interested i may start a blogspot page to host it. so if you are or were interested, keep bugging me and we'll figure something out :0)

I play drums in a anarko- post-punk/Deathrock band. We try to play a kind of deathrock with political texts and a bit more up-beat.

I do one of the split-vocals in a Copenhagen-based HC/Anarchopunk band called Chainsaw Brigade. You can check us out at: http://www.myspace.com/chainsawbrigade
Our recordigs sux, since it is only made with a laptop and 1 mic, but you get the picture:)

The band itself is pretty new, and we've only been playing 4 gigs so far, but we'are currently working on more tracks, and hopefully we'll go on touring during the summer.

We're also planning on putting out a demo pretty soon, wich of cause will also be able for download on this page.

Before that, I did the vocals in a DC '81-inspired HC band called Jack The Ripper, But we broke up about a year ago, due to different reasons.

You can hear our old recordings here: http://www.myspace.com/666stabwounds

Before that I've been singing in a street/Oi! punk band called Reptilicus, and I've been playing bass in a drunk-thrash-whatever punkband called Afgrundens Moral, and practiced a few times with a Oi! band called The Padlox, thet never really came out of the practice-area.

My first band was Ring Of Truth. Crass/Conflict style anarcho-punk. I joined in March of 2007, and I've basically been on-again/off-again with them ever since.

My second band was Earslaughter. Old school grindcore. It lasted about 4 months. We played three shows and released one demo.

My third band was Cirrhosis. We played doom metal with a touch of black metal. We only got around to playing one show before calling it a day.

I was the drummer in all three. I'm hoping to pick up bass and keyboards soon.

    I forgot one, haha.

I was also in a band called Cats With Herpes. Folk punk. We played only one show, and then just kind of drifted apart.

I'm the drummer of the band Devastation. My bassist and I started the band around August 2009. We got our guitarist around September and we had to keep looking for a non-shy person to be the frontman. So we finally found a vocalist, who is a female.

We don't have just one or two genres. We have different types of songs of different punk genres. So we're a mixed punk genre band, just trying to get as many people to like us. Plus we didn't agree in having just one genre.

We got two songs which are ripped from videos we've taken. We won't have a full demo in a couple of months, we'll just have recorded instrumentals then later bring in our vocalist. She has some issues with her parents but in the meantime, I hope she practices the songs.

Go add us if you want.

    Check It Out!:

I'm singing in a band called The D.S.S. at the moment, and I play bass when we jam, but we're planning on finding a steady bassist before we start gigging, since I can't do two things at once. I'm itching for the day when we have a solid line up and can finally start playing, since this is my first proper band (I used to be in an A'Cappella Chumbawamba cover band, but it didn't last long).

I write most of the songs and my biggest lyrical influences are Chumbawamba, Crass, Flux of Pink Indians, Bikini Kill, ASOB/BtMI!, Poison Girls and TISM... Musically, I have no idea exactly what we sound like (broadly speaking, a crusty, bass-heavy Melbourne punk sound), but I'm sure someone will one day tell me!

Anyone in the Toronto area, but hopefully closer to Oshawa: If you need a drummer for your punk rock band, I'll probably do it. I've been looking for a band for so damn long!

Also, if anyone near the greater Toronto area wants to start a folk punk band, I'm down to play fiddle...
