    What bots?
    The google ones etc? I think they're just to keep track of things, mate. To give people live feeds, etc.

    one of them jumped out of my comp screen onto the keyboard, and started scrambling around trying to drink my beer. it was like Tron, in reverse. i called "him" William, after William Gibson. he liked tennis, because it reminds him of the game "pong" in his world. then he got drunk and started lecturing me on the varied merits of gigacommunism and cyberaerobics. i had to hit him with a coffee mug to shut him up. his last vocoder sounding word was "meatfascist".

    The bots that appear on the online users list are Spider Bots aka Web Crawlers

    Those are essential for the survival of our website. The only thing these bots do is to visit our site a couple of time every day. The bots check for new content, and if new content is found it is indexed in search engines like google, yahoo, etc...

    Each spider bot is a different search engine. And without them, we wouldn't appear on google and other search engine, no one would visit our website!
