Good thing you people don't get your ears fed with bullshit whether Ronaldo kicks Messi's ass or vice versa all day. Sports is a business, it sucks, people get millions of dollars for kicking a ball so I couldn't care less about it.

but before it is a money making jackpot its a friendly game. thers nothign bad about a good friendly game of hockey. it brings peeple together promots sportsmans ship and unity. its great playign a good intense game of hockey then sitting around having a few beers with the team you wanted to destroy a few mins earlyer. since the dawn of time there have been sports. i think people need a friendly way to be competitive against their fellow man. its a great way to releve stress and anxioty

yes these days the big sports have been marketed to death. and have become muiltimillion dollar buisnesses. but its free to watch? you turn you tv on and you got it. they are not forcing any one to pay a cent when the game is on. and if makes hundreds of peopel very happy then whats wrong with it?

and its more then just slapping a rubber puck back and fourth like dumb canaidens. its a show of skill. its not just any jo shmo that picks up a stick is in the NHL. you have to be fast smart cordinated fast and strong as hell. and really fast on skates. so much skill goes into hockey that comparing it to a few guys kickign a ball around is just wrong.

i am pretty sure it does not negetivly impact the world? for a few cities to have hockey eveyr winter? it brings a boat load of money into the city. it provides tons of jobs to all the people that work on making it happen. from the players to the zamboni driveers to the guys who clean the stands after the game to the tv people to the radio announcers and the beer companys. it unites cities together. one common happyness. last night the streets were covered in people cheering and chanting. it did not matter if you were white black gray ornage gay straight crooked what ever. and there are several funds for sick children and scholoships and other aid programs that are funded by the NHL and the differnt sports teams.

you were sayign how the players are paid millions. yes they are. but think of this. they worked their asses off for that money. they were playing hockey since they were 2 years old. they put hours apon hours then take those hours and multiply by 10 thats how long they spent practising. they have to deticate their lives to the game. everythign is hockey. you wake up. you have the morning skate. you rest you have afternoon training in the gym. you eat supper you have that nights game. people have to move all over the world and leave their home towns behind and sometimes their familys. there are peopel that come from germany and russia and everwhere just spo they can live their dream. i these guys arent just some bums that do nothing ad get paid boat loads of cash. they work hard as fuck for their check.

but in the end its abll about this... :beers: <3 being with friends having an great time.

Was talking about football when it came to kicking a ball around. Have you heard of hooligans and riots coming from the "friendly" games?

I doubt they work as hard as a coal miner, yet he gets barely of what they get. It is free to watch but can't that money they spend on ''buying'' players be used for better alternatives than trying to be the best team ever and whatnot? I'm sure a couple of thousand dollars can help some starving people. And I'm pretty sure they do not train every day and go to the gym.

Yes, they do provide jobs, but they also relieve the public of any stress or rage held at the Government just like what happened here after a football match played by the Lebanese ministers, start hooligan fights, riots, and fights between different team supporters, and even conflicts between friends. Football/Hockey should be a game, not a damn business, players should be paid a normal wage not a million dollars. It should be just entertainment. It's like me being paid millions of dollars to join a clan/guild on WoW, Counter-Strike, or even Halo. Last thing I need to see is support for beer companies and the biased media, they have enough already it's us who need the help.

Let's take Manchester United and Barcelona for example, here people fight each other over which team kicks the most ass, and then that is divided to which player kicks who's ass. So for example, if you hold a team flag and a rival supporter of another team shows up, curses are exchanged and it often leads to physical violence. The only unity I see is between supporters of the same team who unite against the opposing team.

now dont start comparing hockey fans to the soccer hooligins since they are not even the same at all...minus a few peopel here and there but its no way even the same. but there are not even close to the same fights that go on. there is no hate twords a caps fan. the worst i have seen is a caps fan came where a bunch of fans were hanging out and every one bood him to leave. thats sportmens like rivlery right there, no one ran up and started fighting him or anythign like that. and i know you were talking about soccer but i just assumed you had the same mentality twords a bunch of guys shooting a puck around.

and yes they really do train every day trust me i know peopel who have been in the juniours and he would train all the time. i forgot to mention the pre game warmup they have 2 hours before any game and the hour or so warm down they have after the game. you see them doing the after game. when they do interveiws on those excersise bikes. perhaps 6 million dollars is high. ya. but they work hard. and ofcourse you cant compair them to coal miners or like crab fishers or dirty jobs liek that since they are worse then any job around when it comes to how hard you have to work and how dirty it is compaired to their pay. how much do coal minors get paid anyways? any one know?

and you said that thousands can be put to feeding poor and what not. i already talked about that. there are all kinds of funds for homeless and scholerships for peopel who can afford schooling and there are all kinds of donations to hospitals and there and a bunch of benifit programs in place already. its not like they are hoarding all the money for them selfs...

You can never deny the love and unity that come from sports games.

No, no hate towards each other, the guys in the videos were just trying to hug each other but it's pretty difficult on ice so they ended up toppling on the ground which appeared as if they were fighting, but they were just lovin'.

I dunno how much they get paid, but it is not near what those players get. Playing a game everyday and 2 hours before a game is nothing compared to hard jobs, it's still a game and they still enjoy it. They retire early while other workers keep on working till over their 60s as to not get broke and try to make a living.

Which is not even 1/4 of what those teams/NHL get and pay for individuals. The individuals are hoarding, well, they spend it too.

We've already had a huge debate on this on another thread, big sports is big buisness which fuels the capitalist state....period. It is against Anarchistic goals. But that doesn't mean I condemn you for being a fan rude-boy, just please don't try and convince us that they are wonderful athletes who are just in it for the beauty of sport.

i did not deny people are dumb. but if i googles socccer riots im am sure i would find alot more then that and much worse. and what i said in the part you quoted was all i could say. what i have seen in this series. no one was jumping at every caps fan they saw. hell there are baseball fights and riots there are fights and riots from anythign that brings up alot of emotions i bet there are golfd fights! there are hundreds of hockey games every winter all over northamerica and the world. and you link to a few fights and say all it does is start fights..cheap argument you got there...

ofcourse if you compair any job to the worst job your going to pass your point. like i already said coal miners have horrible jobs..no denying that they should get paid more. but a person gets paid for the money they are able to bring in? thats ussuly how a salary is bassed? you get paid for how much money you make your bos right? so if what your doing is bringing in tons and tons of money your entitled to what your work has done? liek if i make amovie. and the movie makes 10 million$ then i am intitled to my percentage what ever it is. it used to be alot worse. players used to get paid more till the salary cap a few years ago stoped crazy salarys. but if your gunna argue about high wadges look at nfl. or baseball and basketball. those players all more more then nhl players.

hell what do you expect from these people. they are not going to give all their money away just cuz they make alot of it. these guys are not in it for the money. they did not join hockey so they would make tons and tons of money. they are not screwing people over and doing curropt things for their money. they work hard not as hard as a coal miner but they work hard and they have worked hard for what they have they are intitled to it. they got the money through honest work. no theivery or lies. maybe the homless peopele should have worked as hard as the players or coal miners then there would be less homeless?

if any one is in the wrong for how much money they are getting it is not the players. they players have not done anything wrong. who would be in the red??.. i dont know. use your super google skills and find out?

they also get paid alot because there are not alot of people that can do what they do. which makes them more rare then an every day person liek me. liek i said you cant just pick up a stick and away you go. you eather have it or you worked you balls of to get it. or you just dont have it.

so what is the beef? is it the money they get paid? the fact of organised sports? or the fights? what is the main point that people dont liek about hockey? or sports in general?
i hope peoples lack of sports skills are not influincing their opinion? this is not gym class.

but is it a waste of time beign active? staying in shape? i play ball hockey every sunday with a groupe of my friends. some times its the only time i will see those friends and i have made new friends by playing. we meet at 2. play till 5 or 6 and then head home for some food. i dont see that being a waste. its good excersise and a good way to get some stress out.

and watching it. the game is on at 7 or 7 30. the game is about an hour an a half. the hour and a half i spend watchign that game with my friends is alwase filled with big smiles and lauging and a good time. i dont see that as being a waste of life. is see that as being in life and being in the middle of it. what else would i be doing at 7 30 on a wednesday night? talkign to you guys on this site? maybe playing some call of duty?

i know. sports is not for every one. and i understand that. thats cool. if some one said meh im not really a fan of hockey. i call them crazy but i laugh afterwords and think nothing of it. but what were you doing last night at 7 pm(est)? or on most night at that general time?

very much agreed. but its major corporations that have made something thats just meant to be a game for recreation into whta it is. playing sports in itself is fine tho its fun, and i don't think anyone would venture to say an anarchist society shouldn't have sports and games, children make up their own all the time should we stop them? the problem is when all that money is wasted on a game when it could help ppl, and you have stupid fans that get into fights over it.

Punkmar is right, big business which fuels capitalism. And also we can clearly see the most capitalist values in this game : permanent competition and dreaming to be the best of the best.

They are earning millions out of a game while theres still peoples dying of hunger and homelessness, yes this is screwing people over.

if you see nothing wrong in the way they act then you probably see nothing wrong with famous singers who make millions, and multinationals ???

You are kidding me ? They work hard as coal miner ? It's a SPORT, a damn GAME !!! They should be doing it for FUN, as a HOBBY...

Your speech sound like the capitalist... "if there are homeless peoples it's because they don't work hard enough"... there are numbers of homeless peoples who aren't here by choice, it's just because they CAN'T find a job and because the logements are too costy... seriously you live in montreal, go talk to a couple of peoples on the street and start by trying to understand their problems...

and also ask the homeless if they would accept to be paid millions for playing a game, i'm pretty sure none of them would say no

All hockey is is a bunch of over-paid idiots trying to put a puck in a net with a stick, chasing each other around for one object. Same as football, same as soccer, same as tennis, etc. It's all stupid, it's all there to distract you from what's really going on, and it all should be abolished from television. The games are fun to play if it is pickup and JUST FOR FUN.

Meh. Sports can be fun on the occasion. But people shouldn't make millions to play them. Ungovernable is right, there just games.. Besides, most of the kids who play sports that are my age are macho brutes who I would never want to talk to or even associate myself with. I'd rather just ride my bike in solitude :p

ungovernable i think u mis read that.

"they work hard not as hard as a coal miner"

and ya saying if there are homeless peoples it's because they don't work hard enough was prolly a bit much i got a bit carried away....so nvm that

im just tryign to defent the players. because i dont see them as the problem. but they are very differnt then singers and hip hops artist starts. those stars dont work they just sing half their shit is written by some one else. the players train day in and day out. and their lives revolve around stayign in the best shape as they can or they get cut. and fired.

hmm a thought that came to me as i was writing. you think its better they make millions instead of the legaue keeping it all and just sitting in wealth? its better the players get it then the big time buisness fuckers. but ya its ovisly alot. but its ended up liek that through out all sports...

and you cant deny that even though alot of money is made there is alot of investment into chairtys and help funds and all those organisations. and sports promots staying in shape. so maybe watchign it may distract you from the huge problems of the world but it will promot being in shape for when you go out to fight the man!
