So, what do you think will happen to anarcho punk once we fulfill our dream of living in a fully anarchistic society?
Will it be part of the new society's history?
    Will it become"old-people" music?
    Will it just fade away?

(I don't know if this is the right forum to start this topic because it kind of merges the music with the political debate, I think. So I apologize if I should've started this one on the Music forum.)

i think it would become more popular than ever...

just like the communist music became very popular in russia once the russians did the revolution or when the cubans did their revolution

Maybe. But wouldn't it be like preaching to the choir? I mean, why would we complain about capitalism, racism, cops, nazis etc. if we're already past that?
And imagine our kids...They wouldn't know what it was to live in a capitalist, opressionist society, why would they sing about it? Shouldn't they sing about what's happening and not about what happened already?

I personally think that it'll always be around but not with the same significance it has right now...You don't hear that many bands or artists singing about how capitilism was implanted in our society...

But each to their own... :)

We would listen to it to remember what we fought against and how far we had come. Instead of them being songs of protest, they'd be songs of victory and what we overcame.
I think the kids growing up in this society would like it, even if they don't know what it was like to live in a capitalist society. It may mean something a little different to them though.
We still hear songs about other struggles, and we still listen to them or they become of great historical significance. Either way, they'll be around :)

I guess I agree that it will still be around. The contents of the lyrics will probably change though, like you stated in your comment.

it's fun to think about, but it is irrelevant until we create an anarcho society in the first place.

I think that it would serve as a reminder to exactly how fucked up things were.

And "squats" will be referred to as "saloons", and "punk shows" will be referred to as "hootenannies".

Punk, which is music that will always protest the wrongs of society will point out flaws of the society in hope of getting them changed (there might be some flaws left to fix even if an anarchist society should rise)
But in the end, it would become change it sound and probably would turn into all sorts of new music, and the anarchistic ideals would go from protest, to just being part of the norm. Just like worksongs through time and influences from others, became everything from R'n'B and rap music to folk and jazz.

Then their might be some new forms of music in opposition to the anarchist system. With the first flaw, bands who would insist that capitalism would be great, because they never had lived in a capitalistic society and only read the liberalistic propaganda, and be power hungry. Then that would create debate, and further evolve the system, hopefully into a perfect society in the end.

Or at least i think so

hahah.....i find this topic really interesting......punk is a riot,a movement that express all the rage against the system and the political reality...but in case of an anarchistic society,i thing that we will find something else that will express our way of life....punk can change, because it s not a dead genre of music....we are the punk.....but i think that is better to see what will happen and not to make plans.....and as my best friend says when i consider about the punk's future...punk is not dead, because it was never born..... :D

i like the idea it'll become "old people's music" hahahha. i do think it'll be around for a long long time tho as it already has been around for what over fourty years? however i'm sure it'll focus on new struggle's cuz there's always gonna be something to fix in society.

This part made me think of a crazy situation of if there was an anarchist society for many years and then a bunch of punk bands would start fighting the "anarcho-system" and fighting for capitalism and wanting a state to rule. You'd have pro-establishment punk bands....establishment-punk? capitalist-punk? hahaha my head just exploded.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised. There's always two sides to a coin.
