Well I'm a young teenager too and I'm growing and veganism actually helped my regain a healthy weight (was unserweight) and blood sugar level (was too low). I've grown an inch and feel better then ever. You've just gotta get nuts man, it's all about the nuts!!! :D

That's right, cos everyone knows there's no proteins in vegetables. Someone should tell that to elephants, they grow pretty big, eh?

You can get better quality proteins from grains and pulses. Animal poteins have to be broken down and re-assembled. Vegetable proteins do not. Where do you think animals, such as cows, get their protein from in the first place?

Also worth bearing in mind that cows, etc, manage to find enough b12 to keep them alive.

Videos like that are a cowardly tactic designed to circumvent rational discourse.

I've seen many of them, and I am not. The problem is that the video is designed to elucidate a powerful emotional response, which isn't necessarily bad, in itself. However, that emotion needs to be tempered with reason and logic. These videos are often deliberately employed to drown out conversation. Moreover, it's really a cheap and cowardly substitute for argument.

I've seen lots of them too and they aren't why i'm vegan. I've seen it live up close.
If a video like this makes an impression i still recomend trying to get to see a butchery or something for real. It doesn't always look this bad but if you're there you can get a differnet feeling then from a video. Not until you have actually held a knife in your hand and slit the thoat of a pig with it, you know if you are capable of eating meat or not, i think. I had an internship for two weeks at a butchery before i had even thought about going vegetarian and believe me, after that i couldn't enjoy a steak ever again.

I occasionally work in a butchers' shop. They only get the parts but it's tough to have any illusions when you're holding a cow's heart. I admit, if I had to personally kill the animal every time I ate meat I'd probably stop. Also it'd be incredibly time consuming, thats's why we developed agriculture in the first place. Anyhow, while I'm not vegetarian I'm actually not against vegetarianism, except for infants and children, in fact, I think it's a good thing because it's better for the environment. My big objection is to people who want to stop animal research.

The meateaters that i have a problem with are those who doesn't want to know what it is they are eating, who are disgusted by the fact that it's the flesh of a formerly living being and that pretends it's not. You know what you eat for real and do it any way, then i can respect it.
If i put it like this: i would want there to be no need for animal research. If other alternatives are used more i think that's awesome.

So would I. However, to do so at this point would be to condemn thousands, perhaps millions of people to unnecessary death and suffering, and that's not a trade I'm willing to make. To do otherwise would be insane. However, computer models are getting better, if technology trends continue unabated, will have equivalent, and then superior alternatives, say, within thirty years or so. I garuntee you the minute this technology becomes availible it will be adopted universally.

I understand what you're saying, and i think what we can do is to put more preassure on them to get these other, animalfree, methods working and to use them in everything they can. It's supposedly cheaper to use animals today and so they do that a lot due to lack of money for their projects, but since scientific work is mostly financed by the state it's again the state that are putting their money in the wrong places. They need to know we don't want what is tested on animals.

I have some crystals but more rocks *hehe* & that's soOo awesome. I literally only know 3 people that have crystals (& rocks) so to hear of someone else having them makes me feel a tiny bit less off my rocker. Hahaha! :ecouteurs:
