    Nick Blinko project before RP.

The first couple of hundred copies came with a small photocopied 3-page folded & stapled "Magitzine" which features collages, small essay and lyrics. Some of these initial copies also came with a hand-made paper "magit" - a small and fragile hand-cut and glued representations of the creature image used on the front sleeve (referred to as a "Magit").

If you are expecting this to sound even remotely like Rudimentary Peni, you will be SORELY DISAPPOINTED!!!

    THE MAGITS Biography

The Magits were a short lived punk-influenced experimental group from the UK formed in late 1977, known mostly for being the first band of artist and musician Nick Blinko who's best known for his work in anarcho-punk band Rudimentary Peni. Afflicted with a morose disposition and the burning urge for non-conformity, Blinko gathered four friends and formed The Magits. Their goal was to take the urgency and intent of punk and carry it on where it seemed to have presumably died at the hands of the media and its own chaotic implosion.

The band soon found that it was hard to express each member’s individuality equally as a four piece, leading to all but Nick Blinko and Martin Cooper leaving the band. One of the leaving members, Jon Greville, would later work with Blinko in Rudimentary Peni. Even more detrimental to their vision of individuality, the band shunned the use of "typical rock instruments", using virtually every other sound available to them.

Their only release, Fully Coherent, was recorded in several sessions at two different studios. They used only two instruments during the recording sessions, basing them on a set they were preparing for a gig with Adam and the Ants, which never happened. Out of all the material recorded just the four songs were chosen for Fully Coherent based on atmosphere and effect.
