So i went and saw The Book of Eli and i had NO IDEA, literally, NO IDEA, that it was based around the survival of christianity (the bible, which is the book that this Eli was carrying). I knew that it was about the survival of a book, but i didnt even make the connection, people said the fight scenes and shit were cool, and my girlfriend wanted to go see a movie so we picked this one. Fuck, not a high point in my life...

didn't the word "Believe" in the trailers give you a hint? oh well. So were the fight scenes and shit cool enough to make it worth it?

haha yea, i didnt even make the connection because i just knew it was a "book of knowledge" and it being set in a post-apocalyptic era america, i thought maybe it would have been about growing food, or starting a community.

The fight scenes, the theme music etc. etc. were all good, but if you have a cheap theater, i would just wait for it to be there or just rent it or download it, whatever your bag is.

The movie also has a Fahrenheit 451 undertone in it as well.

I would defintely wait until it hits the 99 cent movie theatre in our area... then again I rarely feel a movie is worth paying more than a dollar to see in the theatre.

I had an idea that it was about something related to Christianity just by the title. "Eli" is a common Christian name, and the Bible is full of "books". Book of Daniel, Book of Isaiah, etc.
