So about a year ago we received an olive branch from someone at Profane Existence saying that Dan PE is gone and out of the 'business' of making punk a business. This past weekend at Cruststock I had the pleasure of playing alongside and meeting the folks that now help run Profane Existence in a band called ROAC, and next week I play alongside Appalachian Terror Unit that are the other half of the new P.E. One of the things I learned from this encounter was that Dan PE allegedly had gone overboard and started pressing runs of 5,000 which he could never unload which explains his manic anti download attitude he eventually espoused. These new folks told me their house is flooded with pallets full of dead stock PE vinyl that showed up in trucks one day...can you imagine? So I propose we offer the Olive branch back and invite them back here as friends once again, what does the forum think? Where any of you around back then?

My only problem with Profane Existence was Dan and the way he managed the label, not the label itself. We never had problems or heard anyone having problems with PE since it is now owned by a new collective (but Dan is still sending us hate-mails at least once every year, lol). I'm not sure what is the new collective's stance on free download, but it doesn't seems as agressive as before, and they're not going at war with other anarcho-punks who think differently. It's just sad to see all the divisions and mutual hate this story created, just because of a difference in point of views.
Good luck to the new PE ! It's a good thing that Dan sticks to his pro-military block lego business.

Well talking to them face to face was really different than the war of words we had years ago now..different people, and they seem genuinely interested in putting all that nastiness behind us. I tend to agree, though I still feel %100 the way I did before as i'm sure you do too...
