My music in high school, late 60's, early 70's, was Jimi, Beatles, Doors, Rod Stewart and the Faces, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Canned Heat etc. Then in 1979 I heard the Urinals "I'm White and Middle Class (So Shove it up your A..). That transformed me and I'm still a (old) punk today. I wrote for a little local zine, Noise for Heroes and met a guy doin' the same thing, Dave. We talked for a year about what to do cuz we were energized by HC. No money to make records. Weren't musicians. Didn't wanna do a zine to talk about it. Loved comps. Hay, let's get a double tape deck and do a tape label like the San Jose comps and Charred Remains and Raw War! 1983 we plunged in and thru 1986 (from Dave to Christopher in mid 1984) we spent about 30 hours a week each doin' Bad Compilation Tapes Borderless Countries Tapes. Turned out to be a musical (and punk art) archive of that 80's HC explosion. Thanks anarcho-punk.net for posting all 27 tapes.
