Hello everyone

Just wanted to introduce myself.

Hello I am Brian. Been listening to punk since about 1985 (wow...doesn't feel like that long ago). First things I heard were Frankenchrist and In God We Trust Inc by DK. Suicidal Tendencies first album and Damaged by Black Flag were shortly thereafter. Soon after that I got into UK punk and that led me to Anarcho Punk and Crust Punk. Being young as I was (11) when I first heard punk I didn't really catch on to the message behind the lyrics but I had found music that was as ugly and pissed off as I was. As I grew older I started to recieve the message the music had to offer and it has shaped who I am as an adult. I was extremely active in my local punk scene in the 90's. Played guitar in a few decent bands and a few shitty ones. Got to play shows with some of my favorite bands. But now that I am older and have more responsibilities I don't have the time to do much. Plus the punk scene where I live now is pretty bad with the exception of a few bands.

Anyway so that's who and where I am. How are all of you?

It doesn't with everyone. Some of them end up listening to garage rock and crap like that once the novelty of rebellion wears off.

I wouldn't say that's true. After all, there'd be no people still making softer punk music if every body ended up listening to crust. There's a healthy and thriving I guess "chaos Punx" community in evey city, and thanks to bands like the casualties and nofx filling them with hate for hippies and crusties, most of them end up so disgustingly indoctrinated that they never even give peace or crust punk a chance. Their loss though I figured.

Chavs, while belonging to a similar economic demographic to the former two, are quite culturally and socially distinct and quite unique in behaviours and motivations. In fact, in Australia a subculture exists that is fairly distinct from bogans and quite analogous to chavs; we call those "lads".

Interesting so the bogan is something of a Chimera it seems. & Butch the hippies would work the salt mines & the trots would get the customary blindfold & last cigarette, if they were lucky! & ok Derek D. "lads" are like chavs down there, down under. & funny thing I am listening to The Benka Boradovsky Bordello Band's song "Black Eyes" that is some nice New Zealand Gypsy punk man!
