The cassette-only first demo recorded by Chumbawamba, with side B of the cassette representing the first demo of Passion Killers, who were a band featuring Chumba's Boff Whalley on bass guitar.

Chumbawamba songs recorded Jan & June 1983, except "In Texas" & "Obscene" at home, "Arthur" live at Colne, December 1982.
Passion Killers songs recorded on Jimmy Echo's mixer, 5/5/83, Daz's dad's house, except "Why?", recorded 1982.

Each cassette cover is hand-coloured, so that no two covers are exactly alike. Artwork photos included.

Anybody know where I can buy this cassette?
Some months ago I found a cassette label (from UK I think) that had this on their catalogue, but I can't remember what it was.

Yeah I found that label too, they never replied to my email, so I think it's safe to assume that they're an old site that hasn't been visited or updated in many years.

As for finding a physical copy, next to impossible. Chumbawamba have let all their catalog before 1997 go out of print, which is why I chose to share this copy I obtained with everyone! Even I don't have the tape, some dude in Greece ripped it for me!

Aye. Hopefully someone makes a bootleg some day. I've been looking for the cassette for a long time now. The Passion Killers songs are just amazing!

Passion Killers was actually just another incarnation of Chumbawamba, they released another album in 1991 on Rugger Bugger Records called Fixin To Die, where they cover Country Joe McDonald's classic song, re-wrote for the first gulf war.

Other bands you might be interested that Chumbawamba did on the side would be Skin Disease (did a track on a oi comp track was called I'm Thick), and also Antidote where I believe they joined up with their friends The Ex. They did a few others over the years too... also another bit of Chumba history they started as a bad called Chimp Eats Banana and released a great demo... and Danbert Nobacon who now lives in America is still releasing some great anarcho-folk music, I actually got a chance to do a few shows with him back in Dec of 07

So after six years of searching I finally managed to get my hands on this cassette. Cost me "only" £25 but totally worth it! I found this on Discogs (it's been on my wantlist for a few years now) and two weeks later some different seller was selling it. So maybe there's a new bootleg copy or something... Just saying that keep your eyes open if you want the cassette

Yeah I got one off discogs too. I'm fairly certain its a bootleg because the cover was photocopier, and from what I understand, each copy had a hand drawn cover.
