USA writer/musician Ryan Bartek, best known for counterculture road books“The Big Shiny Prison” & “Fortress Europe,” again returns with his finest literary offering to date: “Anticlimax Leviathan”

“Anticlimax Leviathan” is 333 page autobiographical work about the author's life from 2002-2011. This new book is a massive departure from Bartek's previous works. Written incrementally since 2009, this extremely personal work is a self-contained two volume set. In volume one, Bartek writes in a first person narrative, explaining his past and present while jumping through time. In the second volume, he assumes the role of a third person narrator, writing about his past incarnations.

Brimming with adventures alongside the misfit characters of his earlier writings – as well as cameos by a staggering list of celebrities, politicians, metal gods & punk legends – Bartek unveils to the public the strange world he's inhabited as a world traveling journalist, extreme metal musician, and activist.

Like many of the Great Depression/Beat Generation writers, Bartek uses 'Anticlimax Leviathan' to shine a spotlight on unconventional lives that otherwise would be unrecorded and lost to time.

In acute detail Ryan Bartek presents the hopelessness that is American poverty in the new millennium, and especially the experience of becoming homeless after the Wall Street Apocalypse of 2008. He writes of the economic desperation of his countrymen, and the effect it has had on all the intense individuals he has met on his travels both extreme and absurd.

“Anticlimax Leviathan” will have a physical print run Fall 2015.

Says Bartek: “As a writer, 'Anticlimax Leviathan' is the most important work of my career. It is the story of a strange young man reaching adulthood in a society that is far stranger yet somehow aggressively masquerading as normal. Set in Detroit, the 'character' becomes a member of the press, a taxi driver, a metal/punk promoter, film maker and general nuisance to society before hitting the road as a traveling metal journalist for some of the biggest magazines & webzines on Earth.”

“Eventually he falls through the cracks entirely, ending up on the West Coast as a sort of drifter living off Craigslist, odd jobs, and ever-collapsing living arrangements. Becoming homeless he lustfully embraces it, mentally re-creating himself as a lead character in his own imaginary novel. Along the way he meets a legion of 'Street Crazies' that have fallen through the cracks as well, and step by step they build a new world out of the ashes of their former ghost lives. This all leads to a massive road saga through America and Europe, climaxing with the Occupy encampments of 2011.”
