Well this is a bit late but i thought i should add it to this here thread…my friend says Sub Comandate Marcos has been mentioning anarchists in his communicates a bit lately, i asked him to collect them and maybe put out a zine or something, but anyway here is a bit…

    Subcommandante Marcos: Anarchists Welcome

In his latest communiqué Subcommandante Marcos takes a little time to respond to the anti-anarchist campaign launched by the Mexican media and part of the left. Marcos makes clear that those registered to the Escuelita who have asked the Zapatistas to not accept anarchists, and moreover “expected an apology and a purging of the registry”, are not welcome to the school. The Zapatistas invite Mexican anarchists to send them texts which will respond to the accusations against them, and which will be published on the EZLN website.

    SPECIAL CASES: the Anarchists

Given the anti-anarchist campaign launched by those of “good conscience” and the well-behaved left united in a holy crusade with the old right to accuse the anarchists, young and old, of challenging the system (as if anarchism had another option), including the dismantling of their shows (this thing about turning the lights off, was that so we wouldn’t see the anarchists?), and the repetition ad nauseum of epithets such as “anarcho-hardliners,” “anarcho-provocateur,” “anarcho-thugs,” “anarcho-etcetera” (somewhere I read the epithet “anarcho-anarchist,” isn’t that sublime?), the Zapatista men and women cannot ignore the climate of hysteria that so firmly demands respect for windowpanes (which don’t reveal but rather hide what happens just behind the counter: slave-like work conditions, a total lack of hygiene, poor quality, low nutritional value, money laundering, tax evasion, and capital flight).

Because now, apparently, the robbery poorly disguised as “structural reform,” the assault on the teachers union, the national patrimony “outlet” sale, the theft imposed by the government on the governed through taxation, and the fiscal asphyxiation – which only favors the large monopolies – is the anarchists’ fault.

This includes blame for the fact that now “decent people” don’t go out into the street to protest anymore (“hey but what about the marches, sit-ins, roadblocks, graffiti, flyers…” “Yes, but those are teachers-bus drivers-vendors-students, that is, country bumpkins, and I’m talking people really-truly-from-the Federal District.” “Ah, the mythical middle class, so courted and yet so despised and cheated by the entire political spectrum and all of the media…”), the fact that the institutional left also evicts the protest rallies, the fact that the “only opposition to the regime” has been overshadowed by the nameless again and again, the fact that the arbitrary imposition is now called “dialogue and negotiation,” the fact that the murder of migrants, women, youth, workers, children – all of this is the anarchists’ fault.

For those who fight as and claim the “A,” a flag without a nation or frontiers, and who are part of the SIXTH—but who really are in the struggle, not just as a fashion or a fad—we have, in addition to an embrace of solidarity, a special request.

Anarchist Compas: We Zapatista men and women aren’t going to blame you for our shortcomings (or lack of imagination), nor are we going to hold you responsible for our mistakes, much less persecute you for being who you are. Actually, I should tell you that various invitees to the August course cancelled because, they said, they couldn’t share the classroom with “young people who are anarchist, ragged, punk, pierced, and tattoo-covered,” and that they (those who are not young, nor anarchist, nor ragged, nor punk, nor pierced, nor tattoo-covered) expected an apology and a purging of the registry. They continue to wait in vain.

What we would like to request is that when you register, you submit a text, maximum one-page in length, where you respond to the criticism and accusations that they have leveled against you in the for-profit media. That text will be published in a special section of our website (enlacezapatista.ezln.org.mx) and in a magazine-fanzine-or-whatever-it’s-called soon to appear in the globally global world, written and run by indigenous Zapatistas. It will be an honor for us to have your word together with ours in our first issue.

    Huh?

Yes, even a page with a single word taking up the whole space counts: something like “LIARS!!” Or something longer, such as “We would explain to you what Anarchism is if we thought you would understand;” or, “Anarchism is incomprehensible to those with little brains;” or, “Real change first appears in the police blotter;” or, “I shit on the thought police;” or the following citation from the book “Golpe y contragolpe” by Miguel Amorós: “Everyone should know that the Black Bloc is not an organization but a tactic of street struggle similar to “Street Fighting [Kale Baroka] that a constellation of libertarian, “autonomous” or alternative groups have been using since the struggles for the squats (“okupations”) in the 1980s in various German cities,” and add something like, “if you are going to criticize something, first do your research. Well-written ignorance is like well-pronounced idiocy: equally useless.”

In any case, I’m sure that you won’t be lacking in ideas.

Informal Days: International Anarchist Symposium – Comrade Gustavo Rodríguez disappeared and deported

    dec 29, 2013...

Compañerxs, we´ll try to be as brief but objective as possible.

Since the evening of the 29th of December – the last day of the Informal Days: International Anarchist Symposium – up until today, the anarchist compañero Gustavo Rodríguez Romero has disappeared.

On the evening of the 29th, at approximately 7:30pm, Gustavo left the Che Guevara Auditorium alone headed in the direction of the Copilco metro station in order to later meet up with his partner and begin their return trip home. This never happened as Gustavo never arrived.

Five minutes after Gustavo left the auditorium, a compañera who was still at the event received a phone call from Gustavo, however only strange noise were heard, and after a few seconds the call dropped out. Given the strange call, the compañera called back on repeated occasions but without answer, and eventually assumed that later he would be in contact as had been arranged earlier.

Yesterday afternoon, the 30th of December, the same compañera received a message from Gustavo´s life partner asking if she knew about his whereabouts and saying that he had never arrived home, adding that when this had happened before he always had advised her and had never been out of contact, Gustavo is not one to play games of this sort nor to go AWOL or anything of the sort.

Until this morning, the 31st of December, we have not been able to find Gustavo anywhere, not in hospitals, nor police stations, nor in foreign detention centres (Gustavo was born in Cuba and holds a United States passport). The PGR (General Attorney of the Republic) has said that they do not have anyone under such a name in their custody.

We want to point out that this has occurred in the midst of the climate of harassment on the part of the police of the Federal District (Mexico City), which began when various anti-authoritarian, anarchist and libertarian collectives re-occupied the known Che Guevara Auditorium which is located in the Philosophy and Arts Faculty of the UNAM university, but which intensified when the International Anarchist Symposium began.

From then on until today, compañerxs who have entered and exited the auditorium have been harassed, had their photos taken, been followed either by foot on by car, as well as camouflaged ‘journalists’ being sent to ask people compromising questions etc.

Gustavo Rodríguez is an anarchist compañero of 54 years of age, who has written many articles about social politics, the majority focused on anarchism, as well as important contributions to the development of the Insurrectional Anarchist Perspective. His most recent work is a compilation of texts for the edition of a book names “That the night be lit up: Genesis, development and boom of the informal anarchist tendency in Mexico” recently published by Internacional Negra. He had been present at the International Anarchist Symposium in order to participate giving a talk named Anarchy, Insurrection and Social War.

We would also like to mention that Gustavo has also had various verbal and written retaliations as a response to the criticisms that he has made towards leftist groups, even leading to him being naively pointed out as the “leader” or “head” of anarchist action groups which have acted throughout the Mexican geography.

We demand the presentation of compañero Gustavo Rodríguez Romero with life!

We hold the government of Mexico City as principally responsible for this forced disappearance, given the climate of harassment and repression against anarchists which has been developing for months!

We are urging solidarity – as solidarity is our best weapon!

    Mexico Anarchist Black Cross

    —–

A few hours ago the compañero Gustavo was able to communicate with us after being disappeared since the 29th of December.

Briefly he told us that he was detained by agents of the Federal Police and was submitted to strong interrogations. Gustavo commented that he was beaten during a few hours, and finally given that he was not able to be accused of anything was deported to the United States.

This deportation forms part of the anti-anarchist policy which the Mexican government has been implementing for many months, for this reason we are making a call to be alert for what may occur in the following days.

We thank all of those who circulated the communiqué about Gustavo´s disappearance, and we ask again that this information be circulated.

    Solidarity with Gustavo!
    Freedom for all!

    ANARCHIST SPACE ATTACKED

I TRANSLATE BY REQUEST FROM A FRIEND OF MINE WHO WAS STAYING AT THE SPACE THE NIGHT OF THE ATTACK, MY FRIEND WAS NOT HARMED, MY FRIEND WANTED PEOPLE TO KNOW OF THIS ATTACK IN MEXICO...

    ENGLISH….

    MARCH 3, 2014.

Urgent, friends are removed and brutally beaten in the Che Guevara Auditorium.

We make the following complaint to report that on the morning of March 3 today ( a date that happens to coincide with the anniversary of one of the largest shock group structures in the UNAM) a large shock group, masked and protected by bulletproof vests, entered around 4:00 am by force with disproportionate violence into the Che Guevara Auditorium installations, they brutally beat our friends who were on guard at the time in the space, stripping them of their belongings like cell phones and back packs, and took photos of them, leaving them unable to walk, with multiple wounds all over their body caused not only by the blows but also by the weapons used by the shock group, besides tying their hands and feet, and using weapons like blow torches, pellet guns, sticks, electric shock weapons, and night sticks, with which our friends were brutally beaten and attacked.

We know that this happens in the context in which for months the auditorium was reopened by various groups and individuals, to continue building autonomy without hierarchy or authoritarianism.

We hold the self-appointed Che Guevara Auditorium Coordination, and the Cherry Tree Committee and groups that support them, adding that over the last two weeks assaults and threats against friends of the space have occurred.

We call for solidarity from like minded people who know the work is done autonomously and self-managed in the space to be aware of this alert and brutal eviction.

Groups, collectives and individuals for self-managed and autonomous spaces.
