Before you start calling people immature, why in the hell would you advocate voting on an anarchist forum, obviously you're not an anarchist but a reformer...don't start talking shit to anarchists that disagree with your tendencies.

Of course all political parties are completly sold to corporate interest. Corporations are funding their political campaign by hundreds of millions of dollars... Do you seriously think they would throw away so much money if they weren't sure they wouldn't get something in return to defend their interest ?

The "choice" of a president alone wouldn't be an effective plan for ending the US post-colonial policies. I'm assuming that's what we're all against: systematic, global human right's abuses and repression of ordinary people.

Voting once every four years then sitting around for the next election will obviously change nothing. The problem with the US has countless variations: the attack on the poor, women, minorities, immigrants, workers, young, old, sick, etc. And all those sub categories of victims face an entire plethora of abuses that are specific to their group. Then there's all the abuses outside of the US that may not be committed directly by the US but are no less directly connected (Neoliberalism, the supporting of military dictatorships, international slavery, etc.).

What I'm trying to say is that there isn't a one-shot silver bullet solution; not voting, violence, protest, or whatever means are out there. I don't have the solution. It's beyond complicated for any one person to just lay out, especially in a forum like this one.

Also, the solution is going to be different according to what's your desired end result. I personally advocate an anti-fascist world, whether it be with or without a form of government. You might be an anarchist, communist, socialist, or what have you. So I'm kind of shooting in the dark here since I don't know where you're coming from.

I'm for free thinking and I'll hear out your point of view. Just don't disrespect me and I'll do the same for you.

You've already disrespected someone here, and if you have even a vague understanding of anarchism you know that supporting a state through voting for reform is sickening to us.

Again, you are for the state as long as your desires are fulfilled...which might be anti-fascist but is in no way anti-capitalist, anarchist, or least of all anti-authoritarian.

    Punkmarr77,

I'm for the empowerment of people.

Even Subcomandante Marcos was for the equal rights, standard living conditions, and control over their means of production, for the people of Chiapas.

Does his lack of advocating total anarchism make his views irrelevant?

Or does the fact that he wishes to use the Political Constitution of Mexico to obtain land rights reduce him to a mere reformist?

No, of course not. The collective Zapatista goal is to end the human rights violations of that area.

You know what's sickening to me? Some campesinos getting dragged out of his little huts and getting the brains sprayed out of their heads because they wanted to organize their fellow workers to stand up for their rights.

So what sickens you more punkmarr? The possibility they had been planning to vote intelligently or that they might have actually enjoyed making money?

Ideology before people is crap. Tread down that road and see where it takes you.
