A day in the life of an Anarchist World.

Years after the revolution, the world has settled down and has embraced its new way of living. You wake up after a good nights sleep, explain how the rest of the day goes.

This is a thread where you can express what life would be like on an average day in an Anarchist world in present time.

Any chance of a detailed day? With things such as getting food, shelter and the environment around you?

Whenever a discussion of alternative societies occur, a question arises quite often and that is what would life be like an alternative society? I am not asking for reply thinking that is how it is going to be but your interpretation of what would happen etc. This not only gives the person a great idea on what the idea offers but also a view on how it may work in practice.

well, i expect it wouldn't be much different to the here and now:
waking up in the early morning to the loud protests of the youth still on school strike, kinda ritual from monday 'till thursday, friday is practical day and the kids like to visit the multitude of working collectives producing food and consumers goods - the only day it isn't necessary to remind the youngsters about their duty to learn things and take their place in the community by doing so.
finally they give up the protesting after some discussion and take off to school with the promise to bring back an "was present" in their class books...
while breakfasting i take a look at my daily schedule, shit, i've to hurry up to be on time for this weeks practical metal-working course from 9 to 12, after that i'll have lunch at the community cantina, maybe i'll volunteer for doing the dishes after eating, but more probably i will hang out with the neighbors coming from their courses and jobs and have a chat or two.
between 14 and 17 pm i'll work in the community gardens, planting, weeding out the veggie bed or care for the greens, kinda good preparation for my coming three month service on the community fields out of town, maybe i'll prolong my time of service there - or return and start a apprecticeship in the metal works shops if the competent committee agrees.
after returning home and eating dinner the commune discusses who's showing up this eve at the 'hood general assembly to discuss the next phase in the conversion of our houses and streets towards a more ecological and more livable enviroment - since we started to cut down the individual car traffic the neighborhood changed it's face rapidly and lots of ideas and plans to make the gained space usable for the people who live here have to be discussed and organized, a new committee is about to form up to negotiate with the collectives producing the construction materials we will need - thanks to the fates i'm not chosen as a delegate and thus i have the evening free to go swimming with the kids, play football with the sports brigade or simply watch the programmes coming from the brand new TV-channel, my favorite:

It's not really "exhaustively", it's a bit too idealistic in matters of self-defence and more collectivist than @communist, guess Mr. Russel was no Anarchist at all, but there isn't much of a "a day in the life of..." - most of the time I still throw Berkmans ABC around if someone asks "how to..."

I enjoyed how thought out the community was in terms of addressing the usual backlash of scenarios given to argue against the possibility of any sort of "anarchist society"
With the 400 years into the future technique its interesting to see how he handled the individual morals and ethics of people altered over time to match the society.(see the "scratchers")
Of course you have to take some of it for granted, but thats perfectly acceptable for this sort of literature, in my opinion.

two years ago the french fanzine l'esprit la chaîne (spirit of the chain) made several specials with a-day-of... -stories worked out by a writers collective elaborating on gaston levals and several others books about the spanish revolution and the development of a collective consumers- and war industry, some of these people even traveled to spain and interviewed veterans about the details of daily living and working after catalonia abolished the state. another good source to start with is this "living utopia" documentation, i don't remember who made it right now.
