Not trying to pretend he's "colorblind" does not make you a bigot. Unless he specifically said "all mexicans at my school are gangbangers" or "I hate mexicans" there is no way one could have deduced he was a bigot from that post. Racial favoritism DOES exist in schools relative to the area y'know.

Inre ISCA, Why do you bring it up lil' apple?
In Australia, 'independent' schools (more commonly referred to as 'privates schools') are for rich bastards (with a couple of exceptions- say Steiner schools or community colleges). As an example, compare the list of ISCA schools in my state - Victoria (here) with the list of APS sports schools (the most exclusive schools in the state - fees per student are well above $10,000 a year). Notice their presence? Also see the number of Catholic schools present on the ISCA Vic list?

It thus follows that only rich bastards have access to these independent schools, working class folks continuing to go through the state school system. Further, as ISCA is an advocacy body for these independent schools, it is an anti-working class organisation insofar as it advocates increased funding to rich people schools, thus, within a finite education budget, at the expense of working class schools. We saw this play out under PM HoWARd with the increased pillaging of public education funding being reinjected into, say, St Kevin's College's dire needs to built a new polo training facility. Not like the ALP has done shit either.

In other Aus news, myschools is in effect, further commodifying education, woohoo! Me mate wrote a lil bit bout it in here

so it's a clear case of disinformation about the ISCA on my side, i had only german and british sources - describing the network as a growing movement of "free" schools, but not mentioning the high fees and most of the direct links i have didn't work, so i had the idea to ask...
but you are right, their private school character is definitive anti-working class, parasitic at the expense of the general school system - so let's dump it.

I'll just clarify and say there are some good schools on that list, not many but.

    Code:
    further commodifying education, woohoo!
it's already a problem here too, the "normal" official kindergardens, financed by the youth-department of the city or the churches, are too expensive to send the inseparable trinity of our favorite triplets at once there, the institutions lack personel, degrading the whole thing to a mere parking facility for working parents.
so i'll guess we really have to come up with some community initiative - and i get horrors when i think of the completely overcrowded elementary schools in a few years... :o

Really? in Madera California? Do you know this area? Because I do, and it is predominantly white and upper class wealthy, so yes I do find bigotry in his statements, if you don't that's your business.

Ya my school has a new rule this year that you cant go to the restroom the first 10 or the last 10 minutes of class. which is total bullshit because its forced oppression. what adult would tolerate being told he or she cant piss when they need to. and it tells you something about the school that if their focusing on controlling childrens bathroom habits, they probably arent focusing on teaching what is what school is all about. another new rule is that if you use youre phone in class the teacher takes it away. but if you get it taken away, i think 3 or 4 times, they get to keep it for the semester! now, a blind man could see that is tyrannical forced oppression. and stolen property. total bullshit.

The steiner schools completely freak me out, they keep breeding generations of prophets and psychics. Also, they have al ittle "alternative" view on world history, the nazis and all.
All steiner kids I have talked to have said "Hitler was a genius" pretty much, they`re not nazis, but he was most definitely not a genius(thats not even taking the whole national socialist part into consideration).

Hahah, sorry, I just think its funny that they don`t let you go to the bathroom. I`d piss my pants in protest.

I am Mexican and I go to a probably 95% hispanic school, and most of them are gangbangers, or sarcastic little dickheads who try to be Lil' Wayne, so I don't find that comment that bad. Obviously not all the Mexicans are gangbangers at his school.

The school system is definitely fucked up and in need of repair. I'm currently in high school and I have only had one teacher in my life that is teaching me any worthwhile critical thinking skills, rather than the usual memorization of facts. She's the only one who's lessons have given me an understanding of history and the ability to apply it to different aspects of my life and politics.

madera just north of fresno, hahaha they used to have shows their all the time when i was a kid at this place called royal 8, a billiards hall. I know its the same madera as this kid was talking about, cuz he was talking about how hes been to shows in fresno before, i dont think ive met him though. But yea madera is a mostly hispanic farming community, same with most of the central valley. There is this place on the outskirts of madera kinda by the valley childrens hospital on your way up to the mountains towards Yosemite called madera ranchos that has a few nice houses, but that is it

I see school as a way to push capitalist beliefs on the unknowing youth and strip the creative and expressive rights away from kids . I noticed in my World History class that all the teacher did was bash on anything that didn't support capitalism. They did it in a very sneaking way too, they showed very little good things about socialism then showed a bunch of made up shit that could be discredited by a 10 second google search, but the school system knows most of these kids don't care enough by high school because of how brain dead they are and just absorb everything they're told. In all my other classes they push the idea of being a good worker by telling them how important all of this stuff is so they can go to college and get a good job to make good money so they can be "happy". With the discipline aspect of school, they strip the kids from their rights consistently with dress codes, things they can and cannot say, HAVING to be where the school says you have to be at all times. School also strips kids of their privacy. I have to go through a fucking metal detector every day to get into the building and my bags x-rayed. The schools also monitor the kids social media and private conversations. It's all bullshit. It's not there to expand the minds of kids, it's there to close them and make them good little workers after they're done.

Damn. Never thought I'd be so glad I went to my old school. Our history teachers were pretty good. Wikipedia is a wonderful thing if you think you're being lied to.
All the same old sit down, shut up, stay scared shit was still there, but we didn't have to go through metal detectors or x-rays. I highly recommend you get some slip-on shoes, with the direction your school is headed. Perhaps stop taking nail clippers and over 3 ounces of shampoo with you, also.

    Welcome, by the way.
