Knochenfabrik (German for Bone Factory) is a German punk rock band known for their fun & political lyrics. They come from the beautiful city of Cologne, but from the ugly part of it: Porz.
Bit of an addition - the liner notes of Deutschmark muss sterben, just too good to miss:
"identification with the assignment, an assured and confident manner, initiative and independent working, organisational and communication skills and last but not least a good knowledge of MS-Office are nowadays expected even from a simple secretary. this requirement profile can be applied without any problem on the modern Rock'n'Roll -bassist, (- guitarrist and -drummer). the former core competencies, like destroying hotel rooms, wild fucking and boozing, retreat into the background, more important are the so-called soft skills. a bassist who isn't flexible, team orientated and creative in his drinking will despite even a well-founded knowledge of the UNIX-operation system remain a nobody forever. Knochenfabrik recognized this trend already in its foundation year 1995 and was -thanks to innovative buisness ideas - able to secure a substantial fraction of the fiercely competitive Rock'n'Roll market for itself. the entirely new, consequent refusal of performance on stage - per higher-than-average consumption of beer became the trademark of the band. and this innovation created a new kind of consumer too: A consument who asks for the right attitude of protest not only in the lyrics, but also in the stage performance of his favorite band too. a consumer, who regards "Live In Filderstadt" not just as an endurance test, but as philosphy of life that became sound. a consumer, who regards Rock'n'Roll not as a mere provision of service."
