WORKSHOPS:
*History of Los Angeles Anarchist Movement Part 2 By Matt.

Small Correction though - the first known siting of an anarchist in LA was in 1896 not 1892. It was the bombing of the Eagle Woolen Co. The Los Angeles Times described stated that it must be anarchist because a “seedy-looking man about 45-years old” with a “a straggly beard, wild-looking eyes" was seen while "carrying an ugly looking article in his hand.” That is what I get for agreeing to impromptu interviews. By Matt.

*Anarchists Federations: Models and Practices. We will out Line different forms of anarchist federations. We will put special emphases on The Russian Anarchist Abroads' Platform. Also, touch briefly on mutual aid, and finish up with some Malatesta wisdom about building as we destroy, basically why we should build such a federation.

*Radical Activism, A Womyn's Perspective with Shannen Maas.

*Know Your Rights workshop by Anarchist Lawyer Colleen.

*Polyamory: Anarchy & Love by Jacquie
The purpose of the workshop is to challenge ourselves to be less controlling and more open in our relationships in order to subvert the hetero-normative idea of ownership over a partner's body. In challenging this idea, we challenge ourselves to be more free, more trusting, and more independent. We'll discuss the different styles of polyamory, how a polyamorous "family" or "clan" can enrich our lives (both as individuals and activists), and how to begin incoorperating more openness in a monogamous relationship.

*BDSM for Queer People of Color/People of Color with Masociclistas by Ana Bel
Politics of bikes, kink, and BDSM for Queer People of Color. Discussion about sexy things you can do that are bike related. Boundaries and Intensity of Play. Hands-on demonstrations about Flogging, Tube Tying. These demonstrations can be done on others, yourself or you can simply watch, whatever your level of comfort is. (18+, all genders welcome; facilitated by and for Queer People of Color. People of Color who are not Queer but are in solidarity with QPOC are also welcomed. Open to single,
coupled or poly arranged people)

*Raising Vegan/Vegetarian Children by Christine and Tricia
A workshop regarding diet and the impact it has on both our children and the environment. This is an open forum for parents to discuss issues of raising healthy children on a budget and making them feel more empowered as individuals through the choices they make to determine their own lives.

*A day at the Prison Library Project by Joey

*History of Southern California Anarcho Peace Punk/Animal Rights Movement from the 80's, 90's to Y2K by J.Lee The failure and accomplishments: anarchist center/anarchist info shop, co-op house (communal living), protest, campus organizing, + some info on how to organize, starting collectives from the scratch, networking etc. Click here to check out photos from 1984, 1985 and 1987. - diyzine.com/1984AntiReaganProtest.html

PM Press
PM Press was founded at the end of 2007 by a small collection of folks...We’re old enough to know what we’re doing and young enough to know what’s at stake.
We seek to create radical and stimulating fiction and non-fiction books, pamphlets, t-shirts, visual and audio materials to entertain, educate and inspire you. We aim to distribute these through every available channel with every available technology - whether that means you are seeing anarchist classics at our bookfair stalls, reading our latest vegan cookbook at the café, downloading geeky fiction e-books, or digging new music and timely videos from our website. PM Press is always on the lookout for talented and skilled volunteers, artists, activists and writers to work with. If you have a great idea for a project or can contribute in some way, please get in touch. http://www.pmpress.org

Prison Library Project
Prison Library Project sends free books to state and federal prisoners throughout the United States. We prioritize requests for educational materials such as dictionaries, GED study guides, books for English language learners, and ethnic/cultural studies. We also supply self-help, fiction and non-fiction books free. We are a volunteer based organization that is primarily funded through donations (books and cash). Each week more than 300 prisoners write us to requests free books. Each week the PLP mails an average of 215 packages (between 1-4 books depending on weight). This costs about $500.00 each shipment. Shipments are sent on
a weekly basis all year long. We do not discriminate any request, all requests must be mailed to us and are filled on a first come first serve basis.
We do not send out books with excessive violence or an erotic nature. All packages must be correctly packaged, addressed and sent in a timely manner in order to reach its recipient. Our service to inmates is entirely free. We are currently working with a professor at Cal Poly Pomona to develop
research and statistics of the actual benefits of our service. To the best of our knowledge there is no statistical information available for the service we provide. The PRISON LIBRARY PROJECT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit through our sponsor the Claremont Forum, located in Claremont California.
Our website is: http://www.prisonlibraryproject.org
