Collective management of the forum, by the members themselves. This is where important decisions are taken by the community.

Concerns about the appropriateness of the sale of this tshirt to financially support anarcho-punk.net have been raised in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7101I think it is a given that the ways via which funds are raised to maintain the website are a reflection upon the moderating collective of this site (as loosely defined as this 'collective' may be). As such, I personally feel the sale of this tshirt as a means of fundraising is inappropriate for anarcho-punk.net. Thus I'd like to put forward the following motion: That funds raised from the sale of the 'fuck the police' tshirt cease being used to financially support the maintenance of anarcho-punk.net and, by extension, that the sale of this tshirt not be promoted as a fundraising mechanism for anarcho-punk.net.Further, to work towards a decision on this motion, I also make the following sub-proposals: 1. To seek clarification as to the relationship between the anarcho-punk.net moderation collective and the site 'No Gods No Masters'. 2. That this thread be used as the forum to approve, reject or modify (and subsequently approve or reject) this (or a modified version of this) motion. 3. That such a decision be made in a timely fashion. (4. That should this motion be carried, we undertake a subsequent discussion to decide the way/s in which this would be implemented.)

Seconded, in my eyes the image isn't really good tastes and some of it's details might be painfull to victims of rape or sexual sexual abuse. To "save" the slogan Fuck The Police some alternatives are avaliable, I think citizen user Gobbledigooks already made some proposals. And it's just one questionable t-shirt amongst many quite acceptable designs - it's really not necessary to start an argument over it. Concerning sub-proposal 1: I can't have a opinion, I never visited the site and right now it doesn't load up for me - so it's ????? Sub-proposals 2 - 4 are fine with me.

I second the the proposals....wholeheartedly. I understand that funding this and the other sites is a very expensive proposal and that some people on the other sites find the image unoffensive...but I also feel that APN as a whole has a little more conscience and a little more to live up too as far as an Anarcho ethic. Ungov has a lot on his plate and I'm not here to try and pile more on him, but removing this image and coming to a consensus on others is a healthy move forward for all of us. Thank you Butcher for articulating this so well....

I already gave my opinion on this, just search the other threads.
Of course the NDNM shop can be managed in a collective way, the problem is that this shop is also raising funds for quebecunderground.net, resistance.tk and pirate-punk.net. So i would have to ask the other members what they think of the design, at least on pirate-punk.net.....

I'm not requesting NDNM shop to be managed by us, nor does my motion necessitate the removal of this tshirt from the NDNM store. Primarily because we, as the anarcho-punk.net moderating collective, don't have the authority to enforce such a decision anyway, although we can (and in my opinion should) make such a request. NDNM may say no of course, that's completely up to them. We can still make a decision to pass this motion regardless of whether or not NDNM continues to sell this tshirt. My motion was intended to reach an in principle agreement inre: this tshirt. As i state in sub-proposal 4. the mechanisms via which we implement any decision are secondary considerations. Personally, should we find ourselves in such a situation (where anarcho-punk.net agrees on my motion but NDNM refuses to cease selling it), we could, for instance, request a statement from NDNM that stated we would not receive any funds from the sale of this tshirt. I'd be willing to accept such a statement in good faith and feel comfortable that the issue has been resolved. Others may disagree, nevertheless this is but one of many options open to us.

Further, whilst I think its a given that I appreciate the tremendous effort Ungov goes to in maintaining this site, sometimes it's nice to say so publicly. Thus, I'd like to reiterate punkmar's words: I understand that funding this and the other sites is a very expensive proposal and that some people on the other sites find the image unoffensive...Ungov has a lot on his plate and I'm not here to try and pile more on him,
cheers n beers.

It would be pretty hard to do, the funding is collective and it even happenned before that APN was on the same server than Pirate-Punk i'll try to make a vote and explain the situation on Pirate-Punk soon, but for now i have to focus on upgrading APN server to get back the left menu (the new server wasnt enough). Still waiting for a money transfer from my bank to my paypal account so i can pay the new server. Oh, and i need to fix the fucking shoutbox too..

It's not like we have to decide today, a 'timely fashion' can include the time you need to sort out the more important shit like the server (a job i do not envy...), and above is only a suggestion, albeit obviously not a practical one. My point is that if we wish to implement this motion then there must be some way to do so.

I don't think even the police deserve rape. I agree to stop selling the T Shirt because it is damaging to our site and everyone here's reputation. I think rape is wrong in any case rape can not be justified and I do not think rape is very funny. I think it is sick and wrong, and I agree with the motion to remove the T Shirt and image. Everyone can decide on new T Shirts to help fund the sites. We can make a section for T Shirt requests where everyone can give requests for T Shirts.

Wow, okay, well, first, the shirt needs to go for SO MANY REASONS. It is thoroughly offensive and I can't imagine how such an image could be deemed appropriate, why don't we just get money from selling rape manga, oh wait, that what that picture is.
Second, I thought many of the shirts were really cool and was considering them for some birthday presents but until the shirt is removed I will not do so. I don't expect your business to be perfect by I doubt you would buy my veggies if I also ran an intensive feedlot operation. There are limits.

I was supposed to bring this issue to the community since the shop isn't only for APN but i didn't have the time... I really have a shitload of things to do ATM. So i just deleted the "fuck the police" tshirt for now, to close the issue. Sorry for taking so long.
