Steve Ignorant has been making a lot of advertisment for his last gig, look at this:

Tickets are being sold for 21.15 pouds (thats nearly $35 USD) !!!! And according to comments on Steve Ignorant's facebook page, some people have receipt of the tickets being bought at £31.15

That's $70,000 of profit for him... And of course i'm not counting the thousands of dollars of profit on merch (and we all know that steve ignorant is selling a LOT of merch)

Now just calculate how many gigs he played this year and do the maths...

Worst of all, this hypocritical asshole is bragging in an interview with ''The Quietus'' that each time he does a gig he give the money to some organisations... But WHERE THE HELL is all this money going ?? Besides the lifejackers he bought for some lifeboat crew, i never heard of anything... The last time he gave money he kept bragging about it everywhere, so if he really DONATED the profits from his gigs we would hear about it...

There are all sorts of overheads including venue hire and costs, equipment hire, advertising, security, support bands and the other band members to pay. I'm sure you'll pick a random number out of your empty head once you've decided how much these things will cost but the truth is all bands are paid different amounts depending on their individual contract with the venue so whatever you say he will get paid is going to be a complete guess on your behalf anyway. I thought the need to write the following after receiving news of Steve's Statement during his final appearance in London last night .

It seemed quite fitting that I should miss the end really. After all I had been present at the beginning and majority of times throughout the early years. I went to the venue last night after thinking over and over again if I in fact should. Shortly after arrival in the nearby pub I started to get a bit of stick from some female crass supporters over the betrayal, I attempted to explain but it was pointless. Due to this I was asked many times about it and someone even thought I had attended to attack Steve; frankly I would rather cut my arm off. In the foyer of the empire a girl who claimed she knew Steve well and seemed to be a part of things said I shouldn’t go into the venue as I was simply not welcome. It was then suggested by someone else that my presence could spoil Steve’s send off or incite trouble, I would never want this so reluctantly I walked away. It was really hard to do but to be honest I would have spent the entire night discussing Betrayal and possibly having to physically defend myself anyway. I have always considered myself being a part of things as such, so this was an incredible feeling. I was hurting. Sad, confused and totally lost. I spent all night remembering what once was and coming to terms with what had become. I considered everything I could recall and questioned over and over again if in fact Thirty Three years of my life had been a total utter waste of fucking time.
This morning Graham a mate I was meeting in the empire texted me and told me the news, Steve Ignorant had stopped the set last night to deliver a public and personal apology to me, I cried. At present I cant express into words how much this means to me and has made be feel, in a word reborn. Thank you so much Steve, there was no need to say those words in public or at all in fact, but its very special that you did.I will be in touch soon mate. Love and respect.Colin

Another thing, i just learnt that Steve Ignorant's donation to the lifeboat crew came from money he collected at the gig. There was someone asking for donations. So he didn't donate money from his own pockets, but instead he just collected donations from people present at the gig. Which is a good thing indeed. BUT he's still keeping his profits for himself.

But every gig I do has to be a benefit. I'm in the pub in Sea Palling before the last Shepherd's Bush Empire gig, and the lifeboat crew used to come in every Thursday. I thought, 'There you go, I'll donate money to them, I'll know where it goes.' They bought tip-top life jackets, and last year they saved 19 lives. I gave this money and they said, 'Why don't you join?'

Remember i was talking previously about Steve Ignorant doing a gig in Quebec with over 2000 people... It was at Olympia

I know an organisation who's doing an event at the same place, and they said it's gonna cost them $7000 everything included

So let's do the math again

Venue cost = $7000
Plane tickets = $3200 for 5 people (not including group discounts... source : britishairways.com and cheapflights.co.uk)
Hotel for 5 people = from $125 to $250 (source = booking.com)
Food for 5 people = less than $100
Metro/bus tickets for 5 people = $15
Total expenses = 8465$

2000 tickets sold (not counting people who bought tickets at door) at $27 each
total $54,000

Total profit minus expenses = $43,535$

And i'm not counting all the merch sold (that's THOUSANDS of dollars of profit considering that they pay $2 for their screenprinted tshirts and sell them at $25 each)

...And that's only for ONE gig... He did dozens of them...


Note: Expenses for Facebook Ads and paying the promoters of the gigs aren't calculated since i have no way to find out how much it cost, but it wasn't $43k for sure...
