    Karst Biography

Short-lived American Post-Hardcore band from Savannah, formed by members of [a=Damad] and [a=Unpersons].
    ---

There are at least six artists with the name Karst.

    1) A sludge/metal/hardcore band, featuring ex-members of Damad. They released the EP 'Receive the Void' in 2003 and the full length CD 'Vision of Insane Hope' in 2004.

    2) A duo of electronic music producers formed in Berlin, Germany.
sport4 and jentsch, who started to produce rave and minimal tracks together in 2007.

their first release is Drin EP released on the german underground label aromamusic in december, 2007

    3) Karst (orchestra Miskolc) (Hungary) exists since 13 June 2009.

    >>The members would be pleased if its genre was described simply as 'extreme rock'. Due to full respect to all the Black Metal classics we grew up on, and later True-to-the-Spirit stuff we love: please stop considering (labeling/tagging - whatever) this band as "black metal"l!!
We have clear influences from other genres as well and the soundscapes of Karst does not represent the original Black Metal bleakness, satanism, etc. We love those atmospheres, still we cannot confuse the listeners and ourselves.<<

The 'forefather' of the orchestra was Nebulosus Fatum(2005-2009), which had 33 concerts, released 3 materials and produced 9 ex-members. Swapping the name shows the changes, because the previous name (meant "Nebulous Fate") didn't fit the athmosphere of the music anymore. It needed to have a shorter, more practical and abstracted name. So the new name may evaken a large variety of associations and also expresses our adoration to the hills the orchestra lives amongst.

    4) Minimal noise drone by George Proctor (Mutant Ape/Murder Book).

    5) KARST is a free improvisation and (sound) poerty quartet; intermingling objects and instruments, creating an
architecture of percussions, squeaks, frictions, unreal impulses, instinctive mathematic sounds in constant
    reorganization.
KARST is a landscape; carved by corrosion, with sharp, underground cavities where thousands of roads offer
    themselves to the adventurous listener.
